Well, it's great that you, Jagex, have shown some humbility. It's been a first in a loong time. Nevertheless, I do hope you keep your words.
Starting very recently, I have had a pessemistic outlook for the future of Runescape. The population is declining, and Jagex has broke major promises/policies; like the 'no more tradable discontinued items' and their oringinal RWT rule that was altered to mathc SOF/SGS. I remember a time when you were very lucky to get into worlds 1 and 2 because they were so full all the time. Now they're never full.
I remember the day before EOC, the Runescape population was 110k. The day of, the population was no more than 75k. It's not that I don't like EOC, but many, many other traditional players, who were your real prizes, did not like it, and it killed the game for them. It's like intruducing a totally new custom or bible to a group of Judaic Hassids (very traditional, which is why I'm comparing them)... not gonna work well. Kiddie movies aren't always so 'kiddie,' and there is one theme from the sing-along-song movie that I remember that may be good for you to know.
-"Make new friends (or in this case, playsers; not literal), but keep the old; one is silver and other, gold."
But, nevertheless, please, Jagex, convince me and so many others that this game is going turn around from its downhill path and go upward by keeping your word, and listen to players more; much, much, MUCH more.
Thank you for reading this (if you do), and I hope you get something from it. I'd hate for my favorite game EVER to keep going downhill like this.
