Here I honestly expected this topic to be chock-full of damned lies and statistics, and instead I got a fistful of honesty thrown into my face. And I really appreciate that. :)

However, I still feel that the free game (to which I've stuck to for almost NINE YEARS, no subscriptions or trials or anything) couldn't be in a greater state of abandonment than it is now, and I'm not just talking about all those subscription nags: Rampant botting, outdated and/or dead content, ill-conceived holiday events, game-breaking bugs that still need fixing (I'm looking at you, Cussbearer and Furnished bosses!). These and many more issues have made me repeatedly consider quitting and looking for something else to play. Hell, I even considered 2006scape at one point! But seeing that you actually seem to care about the game and not merely have sold out to IVP (as of yet), I can assure that my confidence has grown a great amount from having read this message.

My faith, however, is still overall low. Quoting a previous poster, "you always talk the talk but never walk the walk". Please do us a favor and prove us otherwise this year. Give your player base proof that you aren't merely asleep, ignoring feedback and feeding money to IVP as so many came to believe. Prove the haters wrong, and I and many others will be grateful for such action.

That's all I have to say.

Mod Drebin,
It is no secret that you actively read feedback, but the problem is that a player has no way of knowing if his feedback has been read. A standard post that says nothing but 'read' would be enough to increase morale in all of the feedback forums. A more elegant solution would be to introduce a forum feature, that allows you to (automatically) mark a thread as 'read' as soon as J-Mod visits it.

Just a small suggestion I'd like to throw in.

Mod MMG,
Good to see that you are reading through all posts on this thread. I do hope you find the time to reach page 34 and beyond though!

Someone from the 'Free Community' here. We aren't thanked for growing this game, but members are- and yet micro transactions are open to everyone and earlier credited to 'growing' RuneScape.

You have abandoned the Free Community, and now are offering thanks thanks that you claim exist, on our behalf.

@Mod MMG, you set out great leaps for F2P advancement in 2009, and we felt those in 2010 as well. You crushed our hopes in 2011 with the removal of the hiscores, and have stated that they would return.

I know we don't pay for membership, but these ads and micro transactions must pay for something. Please stop abusing us.

~Someone who belongs to the 'Free Community'

P.S****-buffing Red Spiders would be a monumental leap in the right direction.
Also looking forward to HTML 5.

@gruntamania, years ago i quit runescape after i got my first skill to 90 because i seen how long it took me to get to this lvl. i was in school at that time, and i couldnt be on but for about an hr or so a day. now you can get 100k an hr in most skills in that time, which is remarkable comparably to what it used to be. it gives an added boost to motivation. and you dont know of what monsters in talking about? lets see, gano creatures, much better now, dark beasts, kills are mush steadier and faster. i agree with you about creatures like hellhounds, abberant specture, and living rock creatures. but if you notice it by hr/xp its the exact same if not better than before EOC.
