I remain hopeful too, if very disheartened by many of the things I have seen. I look forward to a massive effort on the part of Jagex to fix what's wrong with the game.
Here are the worst problems :
1. Bots and RWTing- The game has become unplayable in many areas and the economy is in ruins. How are new players supposed to get anywhere in the game? No wonder so many resort to cheating when they realise there is no other realistic option for them.
2. Gambling hosts - Spammers, Scammers and RWTers mostly, just ban them.
3. Scammers and Lurers - Why do you tolerate that scum Jagex?
4. EoC - It's a good idea, but it needs work. The combat triangle is still unbalanced and our stats don't count for as much as they should. Other threads go in to more detail than I can here.
5. High level equipment is too rare, so is too expensive - The game should not be dominated by the rich elite (ie hosts, botters and merchants). OK so I'm a merchant, but I only resorted to that because there is no other way for me to get what I want. It should be possible to succeed without resorting to tactics that are not in the spirit of the game.
6. No item return policy - Look after customers better than that please.
7. Hacked account blocking - By the time Jagex acts, hacked accounts have already been robbed and the items/cash RWTed. All the victims get back is their accounts, nothing else.
When you fix these problems Jagex, you will see the community greatly improved and the player base much happier. Your profits will improve too, so it's in your interest to act, as it always has been. How things were ever allowed to get as bad as this, I'll never understand**** is a great game, that's why I play it, but the way that it has been run, particularly with respect to the management of the community, leaves a lot to be desired.
I'd like to wish Jagex and its staff the best of luck in fixing the game. You have my full support and that of many others. Please don't let us down.
