Hello! I've read through the OP a couple of times. Being a long time player of this amazing game, I can say I truly enjoy the new improvements and changes and am very appreciative of the hard work Jagex does to make this game an enjoyable environment for all. Only one question rose in my mind while reading. About the SOF and 3rd part gold sites. We all know that gold gain is the motivation for almost any action in game. It's all about the gold! Let's say for example that a player spends $50 US dollars on spins. The likely a mount of gold gained from those spins is quite low. Though yes there is the chance of the 200m, it is extremely rare. I myself have spent a good amount on spins and quite enjoy the XP/Items/Gold I've gained from it, while also supporting Jagex. My problem with this, is that on sites that sell Runescape gold, $50 can get you a LOT more than the SOF. I am not encouraging the use of these websites, and I myself will NEVER use them as it would make my account worthless to me if it is illegitimate.
My question is this, what is Jagex doing to stop these websites selling gold? Is there any legal action that may be taken against them that isn't being taken? Are the accounts trading the gold being tracked and players being banned? It's quite disappointing hearing people talk about buying hundreds of millions of gold, while I and others work hard EVERY DAY for ours. What is Jagex doing about this now, and what new action against this can we expect to see in 2013?
Thank you for your time!
