Wow that really left me optimistic for next year.
Having clear communication with Jagex has always been very important to me. I think Jagex has taken HUGE steps forward in just the past year with this. I loved the live streams and liked having Jmods on my favorite fansite, the Runescape subreddit (r/runescape), even more. Still there were times I felt like player's concerns weren't being fully heard or that some issues were neglected and I'm pleased to hear that this will continue to improve.
I was uneasy with micro-payments when they first came out but I'm pretty okay with them now. I purchased a gold membership package last month and I'm enjoying using the runecoins I received from that. In fact I'll probably purchase more once I've used those up. That said I'll still a bit nervous that micro-payments will gradually lead to more and more ingame advantages. As long as they stay where they are now with only new content of this nature added I'm all in favor of them and think they're a great way to support the game.
I know I and a lot of my friends who play the game were worried with the way the promotions this past year were going. Bonus XP weekends and minigame promotions are fun but the Sizzling Summer was way over the top and we feared huge XP giveaways like this would be the new norm which would greatly devalue our ingame accomplishments. I'm reassured to hear that the staff at Jagex felt the same way.
One last note, as some others have said I'm eager to hear about the next Runefest. I would really like to attend but I'll need to know a while in advance to make plans.
Great news overall, keep the communication coming!
