Good work Jagex! This is the first time I can honestly say this since the big Botnuke.
It's incredible to see how the community is so positive at the moment, everyone seems to enjoy the old game again with so many people coming back to RS (including me). I can't remember the last time the community was so happy

The EoC people that are complaining need to knock it off and keep playing the current game. Some of us from 07 and back have been waiting forever for something like this to happen. It's not negatively impacting the main game, which I honestly don't care for very much, so who cares? Plus, it gives the veterans a chance to re-live the good old days. I don't see any issues with this. If you joined this game in 2012, don't even begin to argue that this is a stupid update. Your input is not welcome.
Also, for those of you who apparently can't read, it says that the 07 version will be completely covered by membership for "At least six months" and only if there is a serious decline, then an additional fee will be set. This seems fair to me, saying as we didn't actually hit the 500k mark.
This game has gone through many changes. Ups and downs. Jagex has made many poor decisions that, at the time, seemed good. We need to realize that while they may seem greedy, whether they are or not, they are a business, and they need to make money. This is a great addition to this game, and while the extra fee makes me cringe, it is understandable. For all the F2P people complaining about the fee, you need to realize that Jagex is a business, and they don't make a living from people who don't have the means or choose not to subscribe as a member. So don't expect everything handed to you, as you aren't contributing to the funds that Jagex uses to run their business.
Finally, thank you, Jagex. While some of the new players might not find it special, me and many of my friends were very excited when we saw the idea posted on the homepage. While it may cost a little more, the ability to re-live the good old days of RuneScape in grade school is priceless.

I will never understand haters... So Jagex has been known to turn their backs on the community by saying one thing, and then later doing another... Yet, the one time this actually benefits us, there are still people who are mad?
On a side note, Jagex did not lie nor change their poll policies at all with this vote. In the Q&A, Mod (Mark?) specifically said that if we do miss the vote by around 20k votes, he'll just give us the 500k perks. Granted, we missed by nearly 50k votes, so he modified his terms and gave us the 500k perks for 6months, with our support being the ultimate decider in the future of 07scape. This decision makes complete logical sense. There wasn't two options, there was no downside to them doing this, people who didn't vote are completely unaffected with the option to play 07scape if they ever feel like it.
I hope all the haters out there are lonely because they're friends abandoned them to play 07scape.

Totally awesome, so happy to see that it will remain free
though I think a lot of people missed this statement:
"should the community continue to grow and players remain engaged then the service will remain as a free benefit to our cherished members. Obviously, should player activity decline over the next 6 months rather than grow we would have to introduce an additional $5 membership fee to fund the on going service. "
people are saying that they don't like how it will be 6 months free and then pay but this statement says that if the population drops so guys, all we need to do is keep it up
So it's too bad we fell short on the vote by 51k but I thank you for the generous gesture of keeping it free and having the polls, better than what I expected seeing the vote that far off, Thanks a lot
