I posted on this thread earlier on and at the time didnt have time to actually read through all posts...I have now done so, and it would seem that those players who "trust" Jagex and are heaping praise on them for their all-too-familiar declaration of their not tolerating cheats in the community are very much in the minority.
I concur on one point....obviously we do NOT expect Jagex to tell us the infinite details of what means they are using, or hope to use, to reduce the number of bots in the game.
BUT one suggeston running through these posts is that known bots, found by Jagex to BE botting and punished accordingly, should be "named and shamed" ...it would be interesting to know what percentage (of total number of players of Runescape) those named and shamed would amount to
WHY is this not done?...could it possibly be that the list would be too long and take up too much space on RS main page?
I have noticed more than one post from a player who is asking for help in knowing how to spot a bot !...you should know better than to ask that in forums
if we all divulged our own ways of spotting a bot we'd simply be playing into the bot's hands and giving them the opportunityto change their ways...if you are genuinely and honestly in need of that kind of help you should ask it of another player in private chat...dont help the bots by publicly, either in forums or in public chat, telling them how we do our best to spot them
