Yes in a perfect world where no bots were running anymore, that would be the best thing :D

Sadly, if Jagex gives out information about how they are handeling things or when they are taking action.. Bot makers can see and adjust their bots very easy in advance :( :(

Now that's not something we would want now would we? :p hehe =)

A Trade Limit sounds very good :) That would also stop the gambling that goes around here and also the famous gold farmers ;)

bank booths would have to be removed .

so its like punishing us , just to fight the bots.

anyway im sure jagex will never go for it anyway

a lot of players would be screaming thier lungs out

Hi,

Recognizing a mining bot is easy... Just look at the highscores...
If you look only at the top 100 mining you will find lots of bots between them.
More then half of the skills are not listed at the highscores and then you see
only the mining skill very very high on the list. You could say that he is training
mining.... but as you look for more players you will see that they all have the same
stats low and a very high mining XP. Monitor those cheaters and BAN them.

Fantastic! About time! I've been reporting at least 10 bots per day. Wearing the same equipment, at the same locations day in day out for the past couple of months.

Its fair enough that the account got banned but they will only create a new account and bot again.

There must be some system in place to IP address ban after 3 attempts or something.
That would teach them. Waste there internet hours.

Botting ruin's the whole purpose of the game and I would love to see more done about this.

I would be willing to pay a bit extra per month to see these bots squashed and I think I can talk for most people legitimately playing the game.

I will not applaud Jagex for actually doing part of its job. Like the American government (I live in the USA) for avoiding the fiscal cliff they lead us to in the first place. I have spoken a few times about bots and at times fervently. Jagex could face a mass exodus of real players for the simple fact of bots combined with the quality of game play. Yes there is more to do yes the graphics are better and yes it does resemble another popular game. But, bigger and better is not always best. Sometimes fixing what is broken is the right choice to make. I did not agree with SoF, I did not agree with Soloman's Store and I am still waiting to judge the Optimus system which it seems is not working. One player stated you would have to be brain dead not to be able to "spot the bot" and I would have to agree. How can real players spot bots almost automatically but your high tech botwatch systems fails to see them even after months of reporting. Banning a few bots ( I would love to know the number) has not even scratched the surface of the infestation that Jagex has allowed.
Solutions, I have a few in mind: Track the trades; bot armies have to trade the items away to someone And I can almost bet they go straight to a main. Track the ip addresses I see mine listed everytime I log-in ban the ip's that create the armies. Final tip: The advertisement bots that rwt send in should be proof positive for a courtroom that would shut the doors and get you payed.

an IP limit for creating accounts is a wonderful idea. I had not thought of that. 2 or 3 accounts per month is definitely not going to stop anybody from enjoying the game - I've been playing on this account since 2004.

I really hope that Jagex is becoming more serious about putting an end to botting. The economy is down enough due to people's reactions to recent updates, I don't need bots to sink my bank even further. It's always difficult to tell how hard the Jmods are working toward this goal. I know sometimes it seems like they are turning a blind eye when really they are working diligently. I think it would make a great deal of difference if Jagex was a little more transparent about their anti-botting efforts. It would be great to see Forum and News posts more often with updates on the state of the game from an anti-botting standpoint. Specifically with details such as number of accounts and how many were high-level members. This would just help give paying members a more accurate gauge of how much is being done to eliminate these bot accounts. Other interesting details that pop up would be helpful as well. Though names are not so important in my opinion.

For now, all we can do is report and interfere with the bots we find. Best of luck.

Good, some bots getting banned, finaly!

, BUT I see many bot have been just rerolled for the low level bots.
This system isn't fair, for example: the bot "living rocks", rank 25 mining with 200m mining xp has botted all of that xp. After the bot got 200m in mining, it started to bot hunter. It got 21m hunter xp before he got rolled back to lvl 17 hunter and yet it still has 200m mining xp. (I'm 200m mining xp myself and have worked hard for it. I'm rank 27 mining and yet 4bot are above my rank (Yesgooad, living rocks, 95rangingox and Miner pity)

Bots like this 1 should be permanently banned instead of getting rolled back for just the skill they are botting currently...
