I went to LRC a couple of nights ago (w77) and was astonished to see there were only a handfull of us fishing rocktails. Yes!!!! This is what we want, Jagex! More, more, more!! Or should I say, "Less, less, less...bots". I hope that this is some indication that Bot Watch has found its sea-legs, so to speak. On another note: multiple bots chopping yews at the churchyard south of Seers' bank. Most had names like "wXXXX", with the X being a number. Several even had sequential numbers, as in: "wXX13...wXX14...wXX15", etc. Blindingly obvious. I guess that's what really kills me: the bots seem to stick out like sore thumbs to most of us, yet Jagex seems blind to them. "Well...we...umm....y'know...rather than ban one innocent account, we...uhh...like...y'know...just let bots run rampant...y'know..." Yeah. We know. We know all too well.
When Botany Bay was announced, I couldn't wait to be one of the first to get my golden pitch-fork, the better to jeer at the bots being smashed, roasted or swallowed. Now, I wouldn't be seen carrying a golden pitch-fork: it represents yet another broken promise. Yes, I do understand that Botany Bay itself had nothing to do with Bot Watch, but was meant to give us legit players some amusement at seeing bots' illicit careers ended. I had such high hopes, I really did. Only to be left in the lurch by Jagex...yet again.
I haven't been back to LRC again yet. Maybe I should, just to see if maybe I logged in right after an update. Has Jagex sold out to the soul-less American investment company? I'd like to think not...but then reality comes crashing in.

Understand you have a tremendous job keeping after the bots. But please do something about the bots in Taverly blue dragons and the grotworms at Rimmington. Its no fun using your slayer points to block a task because you know you have no hope of completing it in timely fashion. I know you can use baby blues and baby grots but they don't generate a lot of experience or the chance of a good drop. Tonight I watched a player run between the bots collecting items from them. He then high alched his take. He never stopped to slay a grotworm. UGH! Very frustrating.

I've noticed a large increase in bots using Chinese names. They don't even bother to hide it anymore. Be assured, all illicit botting proceeds find their way eventually into the build-up of the Chinese military. Same goes for that plastic piece of kitchen-ware you bought last week. It's inevitable: China will again be the world's only "Super Power", as they once were. Oh, yes...they were, they just kept it to themselves and walled themselves in, then. Well, they aren't walling themselves in now...
We can only hope to make them more like us by then, than the gang of geriatric thugs running China now.

Well, I see just as many bots roaming the mining areas, yews, etc, as was years ago.
It only makes me remember why I keep quitting RS for long periods of time....
I do hope the precautions, and security updates bring forth a new-age in the realms of RS.

I think that it's the explosion of bots in areas that get assigned for Slayer tasks since EoC was introduced that has so many ppl upset. That's what really got ppls' attention, and has brought on this most recent slew of protests. I think Jagex hadn't fully thought out all of the implications of EoC...I doubt they intentionally made doing Slayer tasks nearly impossible. The botters, on the other hand, seemed poised to take advantage. I've wondered before if it's not possible Jagex has a botter "mole" working on the inside. Hey, people have sold out their country for monetary gain...so it's not unimaginable someone would for a business.

It's pretty easy to catch them with the name dgr**fhgdhs always wearing Dragon plate legs, boots and med helm with Granit Body walking to and from Varrock East Bank over and over and over and over.... Once in a while I'll just report 8 or 9 of them and continue on my way.
