I went to LRC a couple of nights ago (w77) and was astonished to see there were only a handfull of us fishing rocktails. Yes!!!! This is what we want, Jagex! More, more, more!! Or should I say, "Less, less, less...bots". I hope that this is some indication that Bot Watch has found its sea-legs, so to speak. On another note: multiple bots chopping yews at the churchyard south of Seers' bank. Most had names like "wXXXX", with the X being a number. Several even had sequential numbers, as in: "wXX13...wXX14...wXX15", etc. Blindingly obvious. I guess that's what really kills me: the bots seem to stick out like sore thumbs to most of us, yet Jagex seems blind to them. "Well...we...umm....y'know...rather than ban one innocent account, we...uhh...like...y'know...just let bots run rampant...y'know..." Yeah. We know. We know all too well.
When Botany Bay was announced, I couldn't wait to be one of the first to get my golden pitch-fork, the better to jeer at the bots being smashed, roasted or swallowed. Now, I wouldn't be seen carrying a golden pitch-fork: it represents yet another broken promise. Yes, I do understand that Botany Bay itself had nothing to do with Bot Watch, but was meant to give us legit players some amusement at seeing bots' illicit careers ended. I had such high hopes, I really did. Only to be left in the lurch by Jagex...yet again.
I haven't been back to LRC again yet. Maybe I should, just to see if maybe I logged in right after an update. Has Jagex sold out to the soul-less American investment company? I'd like to think not...but then reality comes crashing in.
