Jagex,

Have you considered putting human checks to access dungeons? For example, I noticed today a large number of bots farming blue dragons and black demons in Taverly. You can block all of the bots by forcing a human check at the stairwell into the dungeon. This concept could be applied to all popular zones.

If you had played classic, then you would have known that there was hardly any bots then. The fatigue and sleeping bags worked very well, but only for awhile. It's a never ending battle which will never be resolved.

But still a few banned is better than none.

That wouldn't stop anything. The bots actually ARE human most of the time, that's the whole problem. If only they were 100% automated, they'd be easy to deal with but no. They're most likely about 20-30 PCs automated with 1 or 2 people watching over them, whenever any problems pop up, they act like a normal player, no problem anymore.

I mean, it's like hitting a guy in the face because he's thinking something rude about one of your relatives, how would you really know unless you can read his mind?

Don't get me wrong, I hate bots. I hate them to death and I do hope every cheater, scammer, gambling host, hacker will in the end find out that you really do reap what you sow, but to quote Blackadder "Sir, these are not the days of Alfred the Great. You can't just lop someone's head off and blame it on the Vikings."

Jagex needs proof before they can ban someone, because an unfair ban is very bad for business and publicity. Amazing (and disgusting at the same time) to see someone saying they didn't ban someone because he's 138. I haven't seen them care since SoF. (which is like RS 9/11)

Good thing for your mate that I'm not banning, because I would have banned him permanently. I think after spending as much time as he has on the game getting max levels, he would have found out botting is AGAINST THE RULES. He makes the choice to do it anyway, he reaps the consequences. Simple. Be the change you would like to see in the world.

I'm very happy to see action against these cheaters. However, botting is still a massive problem. I tried to complete a daily combat challenge in the Grotworm Lair and I could barely get any kills because of all the bots. I asked everyone there to at least say something to prove they weren't bots. Nobody did, so I reported every single player.

Bots really ruin it for honest players who want to actually play the game. :(

yeah thanatos's suggestion is a pretty awesome one! the only problem is bots will just be programmed to click the right things to get into the dungeon, so it would have to be a moderetly complex system, that might get on people's nerves- but the ideal of stopping bots would make it more than worthwhile. Jagex, please listen and do a trail run of it at grotworm lair as this is one of the areas most heavily hit by botters! :)

It really is. I just reported everyone there AGAIN in a different world (of course, nobody responded when I tried talking to them). I'm just infuriated that these people who don't even want to play the game are preventing me from playing the way I'd like.

I know! Jagex should definately consider such an option, like a randomised puzzle of a similar style to the barrows minigame perhaps? But the grotworm lair is driving me insane! especially since the botwatch said they were going to be targeting slayer! If they gave me the power to ban those bots id be doing A.S.A.P!
