I gotta disagree with the comment about stuns. The key is diversity. I love seeing what happens when I combine "schools," like magic and melee. It wins. I'd love to see some range skills added to the options (knife throwing just before using my sword would be kind of awesome). Or even "close in," fighting, which seems counter-intuitive, but makes sense since the knife and hatchet skills are in the range skills. That said, magic totally wins now. I was bored with it the other way, but now there are so many ways to play it. Nicely done. I'm just having a ball now. Once I realized I could combine melee with the basic mage skills, I was thrilled. Sure, I miss a lot with the magic, but when it works it's so very potent...

Been playing Runescape for a damn long time, casual player but I've seen it change from this to that.

Never in my time have I ever seen a player use magic without the use of runes. I get you have increased dps using an auto-casted magic spell using runes, BUT the fact you can use magic abilities without runes is a bit stupid. After a while people will not really find the need to use spells such as high alch to level when they can just use magic abilities for free. The market is crashing already, now I see runes being half as useful as they were before. Here's the interesting thing, when using ranged abilities you NEED to have ammo to use them. How about making runes more useful by having every magic ability cast cost a % of runes you are using for your auto-cast.

i didn't ASSUME anything. magic isn't ruined. its impossible to hit continuous 1's unless using wind rush with 1 mage...

this isn't about who has the higher skill lvls. just like most other "haters" you brag ur 99's and cb lvl (tho it is pretty neat :D )

Its about your willingness to acept the new. i respect your decision but: give it a go and give ALL your reasons why (in a very clear way) i have done that (received by Jagex, with of course, a response)

a lot of damage is still through runes

and alchemy gives xp per cast. abilities & spells = after kill


dxdiag HOW ABOUT range doesn't require arrows/bolts/knives. OR HOW ABOUT when using abilities theres a HIGHER % THAT you WONT LOSE your AMMO (that is per ammo thrown/shot theres a higher percent if using an ability)

No need to be rude about it mate, I was simply suggesting that runes are now not as useful due to magic abilities not costing runes. Do you seriously believe that not using arrows to use ranged abilities to be better? Come on use your head, the content in this game is supposed to be used more, not used less. It's called RUNEscape for a reason. Do you think people are still going to be making runes when they know people aren't really going to be bothered using them?
