Okay, I am so lost it's not even amusing. I can't off an imp 'cause my rune crossbow and enchanted emerald bolts are not bad enough to kill a level 8 monster. I certainly can't do any slayer stuff if my rune crossbow is useless. I can't enchant anything 'cause I have no options in the magic panel to do that. All I can do with magic is combat! What happened to making logs? How about tele-grab that zammy wine for herblore? High alching?
I'm feeling like a level 3 newbie and am seriously bummed about the turn of events with what was a nearly perfect MMORPG (for me anyway) into something I can't begin to play!
I had an encounter with Lady Deathknell that nearly brought me to tears! Lady Deathknell says: "Understand your opponent before you rush into a fight. Adventurer, show the students how to analyse their opponent." I analyze (I think - missed the part that tells how to do that) the dummy and determine the weakness to be stabbing, I get the dagger and "No, that's not right.". I analyze again and the weekness is arrows, but when I go for the arrows, the "Understand..." goes over again and appears to be caught in a loop.
I never bothered with the EoC Beta because a) I'm trying not to raise my combat skills until I get all the others well into the 90s and b) I am not really a fan of combat and only use it for quests, challenges, slayer tasks and when I need to get some tortoise shells. It is so different and I don't know what weapons I can even use! Now however, I'm pretty much between a rock and a hard place with this combat thinger. I had hoped there would be special worlds set aside for those combat fiends like there are high risk wildy worlds, but alas it doesn't look like that's going to happen
What choices do I have to regain the momentum of my favorite game? Please help me, I truly do not want to leave RS - I've been here more than 8 years and have a lot of time invested in RS!
