Ok this is insulting to put it nicely. I have paid every month since 2006 and I don't get into the premier club...something is wrong there. Jagex, you really should reward the long standing members instead of just focus on the big money spenders. Updates such as this are causing many people to quit as well...

I became a member way back when Jagex introduced the Farming skill. While there have been ups and downs, it's mostly been up. To be honest, I really don't mind the E.O.C. It makes gameplay more interesting and interactive than it was before. PoP's are awesome. However, I don't understand the logic behind this.

There are tons of veteran players like me that have been a member for years. Why are we not entitled to the benefits of the gold class? I think we have definitely put in our fair share of money into the company and have helped with feedback throughout the years. For us paying five dollars a month still(or whatever the equivalent is in your country), it's not fair for a "package" be offered that basically negates the benefit we get for being loyal members. Years of loyalty basically erased because there is content that you have to pay more money for.

I didn't think Jagex was on this path. I thought all content would be available for everyone. The road that Jagex is going down now is making members pay more for access to the game that they already pay for. Micro-transactions isn't the way to go about keeping a good player-base in my opinion. I think in the least if these micro-transactions continue like this that veteran players should be entitled to certain benefits to access the content. Some of us seriously can't pay more than the five dollars a month we already pay and to be missing out on content because of our inability to pay seems absolutely ludicrous. Moreover, forcing us to pay for a year up front when some of us are already having trouble as it is month to month? Monthly membership for some people is the only way they can afford to pay because of their personal issues. Now these loyal members that have been playing RuneScape for years are missing out on content just because they can't pay more for their membership and can't pay for a year at once.

I think Jagex should seriously consider player loyalty into these "packages".

brb...just checking out the terms and conditions.....(cont)

and after a bit of a faff about.. here's the deal:

"Upon cancellation you will not be charged any further subscription fees. No payments already made in respect of subscriptions or virtual currencies or items will be refunded (wholly or partly) but you can of course use up any unused membership credit in the account."

so there ya have it. if you quit for whatever reason...you get nothing back. 1 year subscriptions are a pretty bad idea for most. some will no doubt benefit. because cosmetic items don't float my boat there is nothing in this package to tempt me from my recurring sub which is both cheaper and more flexible. win win.

what i do have issue with is the fact that folks that have been sucked into buying up the gamecard promotions have just been slapped in the face big time as they had to go down to a shop and repeatedly pay premium prices for what were billed as one off items: and now this. recurring members are pretty used to being mugged off by jagex though.. we dont even get better incremental rewards from the loyalty shop.

maybe in six months you premium suckers will have the rug pulled out from under you too.

I live in Australia and is $40 for a 100day rs card, and i buy one every 100days costing $120 per year, and this is $75 per year and it includes 12months membership so there will be no point in not buying it, unless it ends up doubling in price as soon as i choose my nation, which is most likely.

I think that this is pretty good, but the 1 extra spin on SOF, LOL, i would pay more to remove the SOF, or stop buyable spins.

2 new skills, wow can't wait, loving the updates lately, thanks ;)

R1n Kagamine, it's forcing players to pay more than they already do for content that they added in that should already have been given to them. It's not fair for loyal members. And to clear up anything, the reason why it says June 2010 for my membership is because I had to change cards on the account a day after it lapsed. I'm not being a hypocrite.
