im so glad i did not buy this premier club. the combat update they did on the 14th ruined the game for me. before eoc i never had to use food for slayer. i was glad that they put regenerate in the game it made it to where i didnt need food for slayer. but the combat update they released on the 14th made npc stronger and regenerate 20% weaker. now when i do slayer, if its a little bit of a hard task, i need to bank for food about 20 times or more a task. its like they did not think it through. why did they not make food better sence they made npc stronger and regenerate 20% weaker?

i was going to buy this premier club on the 31st, even though i did not like it, so i would not be at a disadvantage but after this combat update on the 14th im so glad i did not get it yet. the game is ruined for me now.

i feel sad for anyone who is locked in for a year now :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Hey guys, I notice that it says the premier club sign-up is between Dec. 20th - Jan. 31st. That's kind of short notice for many of us. I get paid on the 1st of every month, do you think you guys can extend the deadline for the sign-up?
Here, I'll give you this strawberry if you keep it a secret!

the whole idea is interesting, but why does there have to be an expiration date on it? Can't this just be an additional set of permanent membership options? To be honest, I just hope that I am premature in my judgment of this business decision to create more levels of membership.

The answer to your question regarding the expiry date is quite simple *** has 2 vectors.

#1 - By limiting the time in which something is available Jagex creates "panic" buying to those who don't want to "miss out" on what might be a bargain. This is a typical marketing ploy (oops... tool) used my many corporations to fleece (err... gain market share from) their current *ubscribers/customers.

#2 - Jagex has many updates planned and they know the dates of release. Some updates will be more controversial than others (and they likely know which ones). I suspect a controversial update is coming shortly after the expiry date of this offer. This allows them to lock in the cash flow removing the unpredictable nature of monthly subscribers with the ability to rage-quit thus reducing the cash-flow Jagex depends on for their livelihood.

Summary:
Overall the strategy of time limited "offers" provides a known cash-flow from which the corporation can budget upcoming projects/initiatives. They need to know how much they have to spend on staff parties, executive bonuses and possibly even throw a few pence at the development team to create more bug-infested content. That takes time and energy you know.... As we all know time is money and paying the energy bill is rarely free....

Be prepared for something that will really anger a bunch of players once that expiry date comes around. Jagex will either make more stuff exclusive to only those that bought the package, or they will screvv them over in royal fashion with updates they do not like. Either way, it will be amusing to sit back and watch. :) It is much like a slow motion train wreck watching Jagex implode like this. Me? I am going to grab a comfy chair, a bucket of popcorn (okay for those that know me it is really a pudding cup) and enjoy the fireworks. I am not buying this package lol.

wow scrapping the bottom of the barrel this time Jagex. First you lose half your members cause EOC and now this is the best you can do to recover lost revenue. Novel thought create a separate sight or server and bring back pre-EOC game and make the revenue on that site....

All the negative things being said about Jagex are assuming that they are aiming to please the current members, particularly veterans, and nobody else. If you didn't know lately there was quite a large advertising scheme to attract new players to the game, and it hasn't crossed anyone's mind that the recent updates and membership schemes are to attract newer members to the game and to make membership seem worthwhile for them so they will actually give the game a chance.

Try and get a little perspective before you make judgements on updates, don't just assume that if it doesn't please you that it has no reason for being in the game.

I really want to get it, but I got so many exams, and barely enough time, could you guys bring this offer (or a similar one) again in the Summer Holidays, coz that's when all the teens (like me), and children are free to play all they want, and the strict parents would only ever be willing to dish out their money on those holidays (most consider Winter Holidays, revision days only).

Like, half the price of all of these, but half the time too, for the last half of the year.
I'd say it'd be a good idea.
If not, then if this premier club succeeds (which I'd expect it to), then I hope it happens next year again, at the bare minimum.
If you can't be a pencil to write anyone's happiness, then try to be a nice eraser to remove someone's sadness.

What a shame *** used to be fun but now it's ruined after the SOF And EOC. I stopped my membership after 9 years last week and it was really ironic how 3 out of my 4 next spins were rares that I couldn't get unless I upgraded to becoming a member again. I posted this in general topice but it was moved by a mod whom welcomed me to post my constructive issues elewhere in the forums but didn't tell me where. Money= greed= long time members saying enough is enough.
