I love how there is no response to any of this thread. I'm going to do an analysis here with an estimate that I paid about $6 more for each of the previous cosmetic items from cards since I am grandfathered in with the original rate and I had to buy game cards for them

Now let's look at the gold package:
-12 months of membership: I would normally get this for $60
-10% discount in the general store: I already get this as a member
-365 spins (1 per day)
-Paladin cosmetic gear
-Access to betas
-2000 rune coins
-Vanity items
--Ornate Katana: Already have, +$6
--Green Skin: Already have, +$6
--Turkey Hat
--Barbed Bow
--Flaming Skull: Already have, +$6
--Scarecrow Mask
--Lightning Pack: Already have, +$6
-Raffle to Jagex HQ
-Quarterly newsletter

So if I were to get the gold pack, I would be paying an effective price of about $39-40 (the difference between $75 and $60 plus the amount I could have saved on previous game cards for vanity items) for 365 spins, 2000 rune coins, access to whatever few betas there may be, a cosmetic outfit, 3 vanity items, a raffle, 4 newsletters.

I suppose if I were to purchase those spins and rune coins, I would spend more than $40 but the value of this package is nowhere near as great a deal for me as it is for someone who has only paid membership, especially at $8 per month.

what if runescape dies within the year(wich seems very likely at this *tage in time)?

and im shure 3 months from now there will be another rwit gamecard item makeing player add another 3 months of membership to there unlikly to be used full year....

looks like one final jagex scam to part people from there moneys:-P

Wow...Wow this game is some **** yo. some grade A ********. Mark's fat ass couldn't even hold a good game. At this point E.O.C is such **** i want to puke. I would rather plays games such as farm simulator then soak my head in the **** that they call Runescape. You could have made it simple by making regular servers like Runescape used to be and then E.O.C servers yet you didn't. You don't give a **** about who plays the game you are all just money hungry ******. Like what is this premium member ********? R.I.P Runescape 2005-2008. Way to make a bad name for yourselves.

I have been a paying member non-stop for just shy of 10 years now. My membership is grandfathered in at $5. However, if I join the premier club, I'll be paying $15 more overall for a year's subscription. So while everyone else gets a 22% discount, I'd be getting charged a 25% increase if I join. This doesn't seem very fair, especially considering my many years of dedicated membership.

yo uhh, i have recurring membership already with the old mems price, i dont really want to pay $75 for a gold package, even with all the extra stuff, i have been loyal to runescape in my years here and so has many other people that play this game, dont we deserve these benefits by default? players with maybe 1- years under their belt imo would consider buying this, but why should we loyal members pay this out? not to mention my yearly cost is less than the gold package

For Jagex sake.. I'll explain why I personally am not buying this...

1. Even after adding the option to pay by cash... which as far as I know, the only way to do so is to buy the cards... you don't explain how that's going to work.. the simple answer is buy 3 $20 cards and a $10 one, but unless I know for sure I'm not going to waste my money.. so that's one reason your inability to give a response to your players is losing you money.

2. Your constant unpopular updates FOLLOWED BY not responding to players makes it seem like you don't care for your players and gives most of us the first impression that this is a scam.. when in reality its a desperate attempt to make up for the profit you lost when you started looking like you don't give a ****...

Do you see a pattern here? A hefty majority of players arent quiting specifically for bad updates.. Its because you either lie and say your updates are awesome and "90% of players love it" when in reality 98% dislike or hate it... or you just straight out Ignore the issue..
There was one attempt at trying to speak about unpopular issues and it was laced with lies... even if you were to just say "Hey we're sorry alot of you don't like SOF and SGS, but we need the extra cash to make up for losses on all the bots." ALOT of us would be perfectly content to help you by buying this 12 month membership...

In a nutshell Jagex... We don't trust you anymore.. because you don't treat us like fellow gamers anymore... you treat us like walking wallets... Your main issue is NOT content (though you really need to focus on fixing bugs before making them)
Your main issue is talking to us.. THAT is where
a chunk of that SGS an SOF money needs to go. Reworking forums so jmods can more easily find helpful posts, and hiring more mods to REPLY. even if its as simple as "Thanks for the feedback" or "That's a good idea I'll tell the higher ups" or even "I'm sorry we cant do that.." It'll make you start to seem human again and make us support u

After buying the gold package less than a month ago, I am eligible for a year at HALF PRICE! Half price is ~$48. per year. I just paid $75. for a year. IF jagex was a responsible business operation, they would at this point offer me a $27. rebate.

The ONLY thing I wanted from SGS was the extra bank space (something NO MEMBER should EVER have to pay for), something they PROMISED would be put into the loyalty program.

One wonders what species of hominid runs this company.

I see we have the usual whining and complaining on the forums by very vocal minorities. Sometimes I feel like paying for every offer Jagex releases just to further irritate you people.

In fact, I think I'm going to buy a Gold membership right now.

EDIT: I am now a Gold member of the Premier Club. Like my fancy new helmet? How does this make you feel?
