What happened to earning XP through actually 'playing' the game? The only significance this update, in my opinion, has is to signify how desperate Jagex are to re-grow its player base after decimating the combat system and supporting bot use left right at centre.

RuneScape truly is a disastrous game to play because it is being ruined by updates purely designed to claw back players and cash, while chipping away at the competitive streak that the game, well, once had.

I just don't know why a lot of pleople are complaining all the time :(

How is runescape difficult? The only thing you have to do is read the discription of the ability, is it really that hard?

Momentum brings back the click and watch combat style, and you can now fast drop for skilling.

Those days left as soon as IVP took majority share. I won't refer a friend at all unless Jagex acknowledges what a mistake EOC was for their game.

Guys, even SWTOR went F2P, stop wasting your time with this game which still calls itself "RuneScape". RuneScape has been tortured since 2007 and 2012 finally stroke the killing blow.

I'd call it "Browser World of WarScape with 200M free gold, XP and few instakill weapons."

(edit) Jagex, does it tell anything that RuneScape can't be found in Golden Joystick's Best F2P or Best MMO game lists anymore?

I fear the refer a friend promotion will actually backfire and cause more members to quit. Firstly, the timing of the promotion, hard on the heals of undeniable drop in online players looks like a move based on desperation. Secondly, the potential XP boost benefits is a disincentive to continue membership for people that do not recruit a friend.

The EoC update actually makes RS a less friendly place because it is more difficult to have conversation when the EoC interface is open for a number of reasons. More attention is required for the EoC so less attention is given to conversation. Momentum is not the panacea is is made out to be. For instance is dungeoneering with a good kit it can be difficult to keep monster alive long enough to get the adreneline level up. Hitting the ENTER key to talk when the EoC interface is open is awkward.

Usability of the EoC needs to be improved before i could even consider recommending RuneScape to anyone at the point. The EoC interface needs to be moved AWAY FROM THE TOP OF THE CHAT BOX. In this location, it can be impossible to pick up drops or observe critical details of the playing area. It is analagous to placing a 12 inch by 24 inch sticker in the middl eof your car's windshield and ask you to drive normally.

Concentrate more on restoring RuneScape to a playable, enjoyable state. I was told that EoC would make RuneScape more "Fun" after EoC. I do not know what metrics you used to measure "Fun" but it has not been my experience.

Listen to your longtime customers, respond to the requests of the community, and memberships will take care of itself. Remember that as you drive players away they will all complain and tell their friends. In a public relations war you will get more negative press from the players that are quitting in droves than you will from the few that are willing to convince real life friends to try RuneScape. This is especially true with so many negative side effects of EoC remaining unaddressed

So just more free exp is what you're saying.. (if its not squeal or solo what else could it be). Come on think about your maxed players because they're like the only ones still playing. Plus bonus exp is becoming a joking matter now.
