I don't see why people hate this? I understand richer players may absolutely detest it, But for players who are now in the regions of 80-99 combat stats, the exp lamps and Rune span are just incredibly helpful in making that 13m EXP seem more like a thing to enjoy, rather than a job to do. I, as an example, cannot log on for 2 days in a row, unless in the holidays or the weekend, so the farming skill is just a distant dream to get to. Until the release of SOF, because of the daily EXP lamps, i can actually get my farming level to 49. I have never farmed a thing in my life, again people may think this is a bad thing as I am doing nothing towards my EXP and so i don't deserve it. But how about they step into my shoes and try farming 2 days apart. NOT EASY. All i wanted to say is, GOOD JOB JAGEX. The buying spins idea, great! Its up to people to buy them, and it doesn't pop up on you in game. I haven't once been annoyed by this update and i am very please that I can enjoy runescape instead of just be on it.
The buying spins idea is just a way for JAGEX to improve people who don't spend 15 hours a day on it, making money. And besides, The SOF is better for more people than it is for worse.

Oh, great, more SoF updates. Clearly, Jagex has failed reading class, seeing as they keep mistaking "no" for "yes."
Send-whatever-your-display-name-is,
It's not so much the fact of gaining a little bonus experience as it is the ability to massively gain experience through BUYING it with real-world-currencies. That's just part of it, for many of us, it has to do with how Jagex has gone back on the principles they once used to stand for, and how they are just blowing the players off, saying we're the vocal minority.
Look around you, Jagex, we are the MAJORITY. So, clearly, they've failed basic arithmetic as well. But, I do wish people would quit calling SoF RWT because then their adopting Jagex logic, and with that logic, buying a membership is also RWT.
Here, I'll give you this strawberry if you keep it a secret!

Everyone is so quick to voice their negative opinions. People don't seem to realise that unless JaGex gets the revenue the company needs then RuneScape will be sucked into a void and the world will end.
If the SoF were removed and the slight advantage that players wishing to endulge in the purchasing of spins gained were taken away, JaGex would have to find new ways to profit, and these would be very likely to be far more unpopular with certain parties than the SoF.
Which would people rather have, a game that is arguably a tiny bit prone to NON-corrupt rwt (as a means of sustaining the company whose services YOU enjoy), or a company that has to fire half their staff and significantly reduce the number of content updates, or worse still, no game at all?
People see that others posting on this thread share their strongly negative (and in many cases Socialist) opinions, and vent their anger in the same way. Thus many get the impression that they, those who oppose the SoF are the majority of the RuneScape community. This is a fundamental misconception, as those who are pleased by the content are less likely to feel the need to comment than those who dislike it strongly.
The benefits to the RuneScape community are greater than the benefits to the spin-purchasing individuals, since spin rewards are low in comparison to the amount of money spent on purchasing SoF spins. The money is spent sustaining JaGex, the overlord of browser-based gaming.
Suffice to say, although I am aware of the moral drawbacks of having the SoF, overall I am in favour of its presence in the game, and would urge others to rethink their dismissive and negative outlooks on the feature.

I'm mixed on this. Unfortunately not very clear at explaining myself so hopefully the general 'good idea, vehemently angry at the delivery' comes across.
on the one hand i as a f2p have only been logging on in the last few years in time for the holiday items, so the SoF has kept me regularly coming back for more and getting back into runescape. clap-clap well done there. Was that part of the plan? get regular visitors? Hope so. begs the question as to why would i drop out in the first place though to need this gimmick to get back?
it also makes the game feel 'tacky' to have a gamble option. So 'Boo' there.
It is a get rich quick/devalue the efforts of others i.e. Godswords!?! So 'boo' again.
i note that many people have been rather critical of the SoF, so who are these players so helpful in improving it? You increased the prize funds, that'll help silence the nay-sayers. they were only disappointed at the size of the pot afterall.
it's looking a little disrepectful of your game faithful.
It makes me wonder what the agenda is at RS HQ is? is it money?
this and other updates seem to me to have been lowering the standard with tricks and gimmicks to get new member money in. I, as a cheap f2p, have been made to feel just that: cheap. Hmm... maybe if we see a months membership as a prize? i dare ya
All that said, I'll still use it though. just the other day on my primitive f2p world, i had a new rune scimmy that was a 'scapers dream 10 years ago when i started, oh yes it's mine all mi.... oh no, wait it's not able to go in my overfilled bank. i'll put it in my backpa...oh. Poo! :@
Forget it then. Can i have a mechanic option to not have it show up at all? I'll go back to being a grinder, i'll earn my own money and rune scimmy (eventually). much more satisfying.

So many drama queens on this thread. Complaining about something that's free, and rewards you for logging in daily. So what if someone buys spins? It's barely affecting you or anyone else. Grow up. :|
And I love the update. No more crappy 50gp spins yay.

No updates could fix the SoF. It is at root a bad idea, and diverting any resources to try and "fix" it are doomed to failure. I won't stop playing because of it, but don't misconstrue that as a vote in favor of it, as you seem to be doing.
