My opinion of SOF hmm well i log on do the spins "whoopee" lamp ty ty, 50gp well its 50gp more than i had when i logged on. More prizes awesome, but if its rubbish stuff i wont make a mountain out of a mole hill about it. Cant wait for it :)

The SoF might be good.... IF there was no option to buy it with real life money. I once saw a level-3 with a Santa Hat, so I asked him how he got it. His answer was "Oh, after buying a lot of spins, I got the money prize a lot and got tons of money. I also begged random players." This enrages people like me who had to work for their money by chopping thousands of trees or selling farmed marigolds.

Well here's another positive response. I think that this idea is pretty neat. There were to many 50gps and once you get that prize you feel angry > :(
So pretty cool idea in my response. I also think that people on here may just be replying negative responses because everybody else is. In addition, once they play the SOF, and they get one of these added prizes or the rare-prize such as 10m, or lucky armour or 500k, i doubt they will be still in a strop. I think they'll be showing off to buddies.
However, i do agree about the option to turn the SOF off, so you can't do it unless you really want to. That's also a pretty neat idea ;)

I agree with Mordreath on page 1 of this thread.
As I see it the purpose of playing Runescape is to be able to do the quests. With that purpose in mind you do all the skilling, gradually build your character and your equipment over the years, and gradually work your way through to the quest cape.
For this reason I don't like sources of undeserved xp, money or equipment in the game. I also in principle think that all, even high-level, equipment should be producible in the game, using skills and materials. I accept that the xp/level curve could be slightly less punishing but at the moment Runescape is far too easy, especially afk-training like Runespan.
On balance I would like to see something close to Classic but with modern graphics and the full contingent of quests.
EDIT: With regard to SoF (which I would obviously like to see go altogether - has no connection with the game - stupid idea) I find it offensive that when f2p kids spin the wheel and win a good prize, instead of getting the prize they receive an ad for subscribing. That is real gutter-marketing if I ever saw it. The f2p prizes should be geared to f2p circumstances - you don't give kids booby-prizes like that. Despicable!
Also, in f2p, why has the 'play again' option been removed? That is just petty.

As for this very welcome update, I think it's nice to hear that the normal reward (50GP was not enough) is being replaced with 1K. The rares should be still rare, an increase of 10x the chance to win isn't that bad. But I hope that no one abuses this , and the prices won't crash..
Anyways, Imho, VERY nice update Jagex!

why not make a jagex shop where you can buy all lvl 99 accounts with 1000 bil on the bank for a buck or 2;
why not write in the EULA that all under 18 have to paticipate in kiddy ****;
why not send pop-ups to all 0-12 year old to write down mommy's bank number;
why not sell previous said kiddie **** on the same website
sometimes you have to stop justifing things and admit you are a money hungry company
i don't mind bad updates for i am just one voice, but saying SOF is liked by the general population is like saying kiddie **** is made out of free will, and THAT dear mod's who have been claiming so, WITHOUT ANY INTENTION TO INSULT makes you a *********.

I understand you don't like the update, but what happens if in reality they actually did do research and found that the general population did like SOF, and that they did complain about low prizes. I think that makes you, in your own words, a FOOL. I doubt you went over the whole of runescape fanbase and asked. Well if you did time-well spent :p

I believe there are a lot of players out their who are actually looking forward to this update including me. If you don't like it, don't be a hypocrite and do the SOF, and then win something big and be happy.
