I got scammed out of my rune (g) back in like 2012 or so as i didnt know the effects of the red CW portal.

I can also say that made me better as i learned how dangerous pvp can be.

yep indeed

i got scammed full verac (well i was buying full verac) and they put up 2 skirts instead of a helm. thats back when v helm was a few mill and v skirt was a few 100k. many many moons ago.

Got scammed by a guy offering to sell me rune (t) set back when 100k was a lot for a f2p player. He put it in and kept saying "you have to accept faster". He did that like 5 times before it finally went through. And he gave me a normal rune set.

Not to mention a time I was being nice and a guy was having me price check stuff and then buy the items on the G.E for him as he hit his buy limits. He said he would tip me 100m. He asked me to price check an item at a specific price.. Like 12,213 (Example). It bought and he told me to buy him a lot.

Long story short I lost 800m.
People can be terrible. And it'll make you upset, I quit for 3 years after that last scam. Dude took my whole bank and I thought I was gonna get 100m for helping. Dumb of me but the dude had a blue Phat so I thought there was no way a rich person like him would scam. Yet it happened.

Be careful out there, now I don't talk to anyone in game unless they're my clan mates!

I'll be real here, pretty much every person who gets scammed, it could've been avoided if they'd used their head and not followed the suspicious individual into the truck with "Candy" painted on the outside. It really is your own damn fault for being greedy. Better to get scammed in RS than in real life though, right? At least you learned a life lesson there. If something seeems too good to be true, it is.

But really, don't blame the entiree RS community because you were an idiot one time. Not everybody out there is looking to scam you. Just, use sme common sense when interacting with people and you'll be fine. Theeres no reason you can't talk to randoms while you're skilling on the streets or killing random slayer mobs. Leader of The Enemy ||

that definitely seems to be the case now, scams back in 04 etc was just ignorance of internet and not understanding how computers or games work. now scammers pray on people who are greedy

and yes closinf yourself off from the entire rs community because you met 1 bad apple that left bad taste in your mouth, is an extreme reaction

I treat all players in w2 while trading X item as potential scammers. I don't mind trading merchers but I do google them "X player name scam" and "X player scam reddit" to see if they are shady. I got scammed twice, once in rs2 for my rune axe which was pretty disheartening as I was f2p at the time and once for 75k tricks in bh worlds back when that was a legit moneymaking method (oh how I miss pvp profit. Agreed with bossing, something like fight kiln now with crypt is pretty chill no heart racing or anything anymore but I just can't do nex and if I attempt it I'll have to take off my headphones and close all video tabs. Elitism is still around with croesus, won't ever try public worlds cause they have no patience for learners. dung elitism has now been replaced with croesus elitism.
