No one flaming and you think someone is, take it to Forum Help instead of dragging the thread off-topic.

Ppl are just pointing out how absurd this idea is and clearly those posts go on deafs ears.

I have read the posts, they are not going on deaf ears.

Jagex is the one who made the claim that these are measures taken for diversity and to prevent racism. So if they are not consistently applying it, then they are not following on those claims.

If you disagree with their original hypothesis, that is fine, I can understand why you would disagree, but the fact is that they have only half-executed this action by leaving a fork of their game in the same state it was before they decided to enact this change. So by their own definition they are still violating what they claimed.

This is just a fact. There is nothing to disagree with this statement, it is just reality. I find most of the last few responses just pointlessly repeating an opinion that the original hypothesis is incorrect. That is fine if you think that, but that is a response that does not address the subject, and quite frankly does not add anything to the conversation other than filling the pages of the thread with the same thing in different words and insults sprinkled on it. Buy Zemomarks / Chromatic Partyhats safely here

However, I am put off by two very questionable things I have noticed since then:

1. There is still an NPC with the name Aligra Nite
2. This update was never applied to OSRS

I’ll refrain from commenting on the rest of the thread since it’s getting off topic and a little heated, also snipped OP quote as it was quite lengthy.
1. Aligra Nite - Possibly an oversight when changing the names of characters with Ali, possibly left in intentionally. Whether it’s racist or not is hard to tell, I’d say it’s not inherently racist. But that’s just my opinion.
2. Agree with you here if they do it in one version they should be consistent and do it in both. Check out Thieves guild layout redesign. Happy ‘scaping

Theres loads to disagree with as it has been stated throughout this thread.

Jagex isnt insulting anyone or anything as they have every right to name things in their game whatever they want.

I mean im sure even Wow has some "insulting" names yet no ones saying anything about that.

So why must jagex be forced to change names when its clearly ok in other games?

It is possible that Aligra Nite is an oversight, I do not doubt this, but it is pretty telling that Jagex specifically went out of their way to find instances of anti-diversity and racism and somehow missed this. I question how dedicated they really are? Is this not as simple as searching "Ali" across all NPCs in their database? Just my thoughts. Glad you agree they should do it in both - for me it makes no sense to preach these ideals but neglect one game, otherwise the message is lost. If the message is not lost, what do we make of OSRS? Jagex's own message paints it in a terrible way.

I think you misread my post as I am not saying Jagex is insulting anyone, just some posts on this thread were insulting me. For principle, I do not think because X does something that we should just accept it in Y. After all Blizzard has some pretty concerning press regarding diversity and definitely not a model company to say, "well their game allows this why not here" in my opinion. Buy Zemomarks / Chromatic Partyhats safely here
