When they were making the tagline for the forum the mods liked my submission of 'flippant feedback' but the locals thought it was beneath them.
Now those same locals demand that people go above and beyond. Because 'focus more on the problem, not the solution' didn't leave much room for their unsolicited advice.
I saw something of interest to y'all in another thread. Someone was talking about trolls and they mentioned sealioning.
A strange thing right? Turns out it is true.
A sea lion might pretend like they don't know what someone is saying, asks a lot of basic 101 questions, and if you call them out? They are just trying to have a discussion.
That seems so familiar, but I can't really remember where I have seen that behavior before....
Armed with this new knowledge, and having gathered some further information on the species.....
it appears this entire subforum is dominated by sea lions.
WHAT?!?
IT's twue. Look for you self.
I'm thinking it will take like 30 seconds to tag all the culprits and perhaps someone could steer them in the proper direction?
Like away from intentionally causing harm to others? That would be great.
If anyone disagrees with my stance I would suggest they start fresh, gather their own information on 'sea lioning' then return to observe.
In this forum it is worsened institutionally. The hosts regularly seem to act in the sea lions' favor despite the fact that they report THEMSELVES.
In fact, it appears to me the majority of harmful behavior on this forum is self-reported. Somehow it is missed, but I can only offer this highly constructive feedback to help improve the situation.
Edit: You acknowledged the problem, there are several fmods in the thread I mentioned. It is trolling. It is harmful. It is ignored, and even empowered. Like right below us right now. Even after I posted this.
