Do please explain how the way in which someone self-identfies, or respecting the way in which someone self-identifies, harms you personally, to the extent that you insist that nobody else should do it.

I'm hearing a lot of statements but no explanation or reasonings for them. I assume because you know the comment would get removed? and if that's the case, why do you think that is...

If you don't like it, practice selective reading. I'd say "go find another game" but honestly I think most games (and organisations in general) are heading this way. Get with the times. :) Bob says:

I went to Youtube to watch the most viewed video on this topic. It's important because many people actually think they learned from it.

It's all meant to mislead. They conveniently forget the word 'you' exists when referring to someone directly. They put up a historical reference and it was on-screen for about a game tick. Looking closer it was taken out of context. The use of their is to strengthen the idea of 'a man' being any man. It's called writing.

Taking things out of context is a huge problem. People like to naturally cherry pick whatever favors their POV, like parts of a law. Or one word or sentence in a full page. Or the Jedi.

first time in 22 years that npc's pronouns are explicitly provided. not necessary in my opinion, and unless jagex is going to update 22 years of content to reflect this it feels totally useless.

my thoughts are this is another 'thoughtful' update by a jmod like when they changed all the NPCs named Ali to something original because it offended some people.

perfectly reasonable to see backlash about the update because it is favoring some opinions over another instead of remaining neutral as jagex has always been.

not personally bothered I just cringe reading (he/him/they) but also not surprised to see people bothered because it can feel like your otherwise neutral video game where you relax from the nuances of the real world is now here to force a real-world person's stance onto you instead of remain neutral on controversial subjects. you cannot pretend it is not a controversial thing even if you personally believe it should not be controversial. and it costs jagex nothing to remain neutral on it, as they have been for 22 years.

there is a clear pattern going on here to make the game more palatable for certain kinds of people and no one should be surprised that this bothers some people. your personal beliefs of whether that is right or wrong are not really relevant, that is just what it is. Buy Zemomarks / Chromatic Partyhats safely here
