I don't recall seeing anything about this a year ago, just logged on this morning and found it in game, I imagine most people are in the same boat.
To avoid surprises like this in the future, make sure you keep up to date with the latest news. There are new articles posted each week on the main RS website, which is the best place to keep up to date.

You can also get your news on social media sites, but this is less reliable. They do post some additional stuff here though, so it's worth keeping an eye out if you can.

"How do you know the tax takes out more than their data suggests?"

This was ALL explained in great detail.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish? On one hand you seem to be defending this update, but opening the door to completely bury them and crush the whole concept.

The more you push, the more negative this appears. I'm ready to move on, it is already here. I have a LOT more to say but it makes no difference now.

I'm just confused by that statement.

The data shows the delta is 88.1B influx of GP into the game, and 2% GE tax will take out 86.14B.

What other data have Jagex shared with us? This is the only data I've seen, yet you're claiming there is more data. Can you please point me in the right direction?

The tax update isn't a bother to me really... it just seems unnecessary until they get rid of the true cause of inflation in the first place. All the pesky

TBH your confusion runs much deeper than any explanation I am willing to offer. You're not even comparing the right values.
Which values am I supposed to be comparing? I'm asking you because you're claiming there's more data out there, and I can't find it!

Also, I am not comparing the values stated in my last post. I'm merely stating that they're the only values we have been given on their respective subjects.

Please, help me understand. I want to understand your point of view.

I agree, they could have looked at the alchemy values or alchemy machine rates instead of or in conjunction with a smaller tax.

If the alch machines are bringing in 92B per day, simply half the rate and they'll bring in 46B per day. In fact, it will probably be less as fewer people may even bother with them anymore.

This would have been a simpler fix, in my opinion.

However, the GE tax is probably more reaching and has more longevity.

It's certainly a balance on many factors. It's not perfect, but it's probably not far off being the best solution.
