To be honest, for me, I can't see the problem at all.

When I encountered RuneScape for the first time ... the Grand Exchange being a huge meadow of grass and a fence, Rune Armour/Weapons at those days was meaning you were wealthy and an experienced player.

Now at the moment ... I can produce Rune Armour/Weapons on the double day after day for free.

To be far more honest ... I am not so much of an 'Money Player' as I like RuneScape as it is and money/gp is a mere side-effect.

This is how I feel. It's why I've been calling it a convenience fee to try to help people comprehend what the actual update is.

No-one has yet shown me why they're upset at this update. Nobody has shown me the cost it is to them. Nobody has shown me how they're now worse off than other players. They've simply said they don't like taxes.

There's either a lack of understanding, or there is a real issue at play that I am completely unaware of. I'm completely open to understanding what this real issue is, but I'm yet to be told.

Nice work on the flip!

Actually, they are.

The newspost makes it clear that the reason the G.E. tax has been implemented is to offset the effect the reduction in death costs is expected to have on the game economy.

To claim otherwise is like saying, "The monster simply bled to death. Its' demise and the fact I am standing next to the body holding a bloody sword are not linked in any way."

I doubt the monster would back up such a claim.

As for the game-breaking effect of the dreaded tax, I can't say I have felt the pain so far. I have sold a few items on the G.E. since the update launched, and I have found the inflated prices more than made up for the 2% tax. It wasn't even close.
I've been putting out fire with gasoline! ^_^

so instead of taking the money from the pvmers pockets it hits them when they sell the drops they get on the GE. as for skillers, just sell for higher. see that +5% button? hit it. done. now youre making more then you would have even after tax.
