patch 7 January 2019 (Update):
At level 99 smithing, smiths can make masterwork armour. This is level 90 power armour which only requires materials from mining to make.

Since when is 12 leather a mining sourced material?

@ Pulseironic, anyone can edit the Wiki so that's an easy fix for you. oh no no, this is no wiki entry, this is update text. this has been there on here and the wiki since the day the rework launched. im not an employee so hardly able to edit that little oversight of theirs

The whole point of a Wiki is that anyone can edit it.
Did you mean that it's on the RS / Jagex website (ie here) as well?

But fair enough. pedantic or not im not happy having to wait until i get lucky with an impling or raise cows to get leather without killing something when ive had 99 in mining and smithing since the rework came out. ive leveled 3 other skills to 99 and working on a 4th now. wheres my cow rock!?

You want leather without having to kill cows? Ok then...

Of course, an easy solution would be to buy leather off the G.E. If that is not an option for you, I would advise you to go down into the Lumbridge catacombs on a busy world. Odds are good you will be able to collect 12 leather from drops other players aren't picking up, without having to attack anything yourself. Leather is dropped there often enough, so it shouldn't take a lot of time if there are others fighting monsters while you are there.

It will 100% be faster than looking for cow rocks in the moo mine. :P I've been putting out fire with gasoline! ^_^
