Of course, an easy solution would be to buy leather off the G.E. If that is not an option for you, I would advise you to go down into the Lumbridge catacombs on a busy world. Odds are good you will be able to collect 12 leather from drops other players aren't picking up, without having to attack anything yourself. Leather is dropped there often enough, so it shouldn't take a lot of time if there are others fighting monsters while you are there.

It will 100% be faster than looking for cow rocks in the moo mine. :P all good ideas, for a non-ironman, which i am not. my ONLY sources of leather are killing something, which im holding off until absolutely needed, implings and pof cows. ive looked into every option and not a one has mentioned mining or smithing, which the patch notes CLEARLY state is the ONLY skills required to make masterwork. ill settle for a geode cow that can only be used 12 times. done, lets you get your masterwork and only needs mining to use.

Alternatively, a single cowhide spawn somewhere would do.

and this is about them keeping to their word, ONLY mining and smithing means ONLY mining and smithing!

we are all humans sometimes people type thing incorrectly

either way your account build comes with obstacles its why you are doing it. so enjoy it, if you arent maybe that play style is more of a chore than it is a game.
