In realistic terms, things happen and they don't owe us anything except for the hours missed off our memberships and other errors that have happened.

But in realistic, realistic terms the amount Jagex owes Rs3 players is an insane amount that they would forever forbid themselves to acknowledge. And this does not completely relate to this incident that just occurred with the servers being down.

So the game servers crashed on 22nd November (shite cheap inadequate servers that Jagex pay for and use) and lo and behold the next day Jagex announced a victory resuming the game, which they caused, by using rank awful servers in the first place lol!

And now? ... nothing yet forthcoming in the way of compensation to everyone paying to play, yet the news page is awash with whats coming in december and whatever else they continue to promote to drain your wallets empty.

A bond offer here, a TH offer there.

No recompense, no compensation, not even an apology this time around.

Just a puerile wait and see comment.

I'm genuinely waiting for a vacancy to appear in Jagex's PR dept ...

No previous experience required, just turn up and sit down, and do the three wise monkeys bit!

Pathetic is ... as pathetic always will be!

Remember the facts around this complete lockout ...

it was caused by only "one of our external Data Centre providers ..." Jagex's own words on their news page.

So there are several external Data Centre providers? Has a risk assessment been done on the other external Data Centres since this power failure, to ensure a power failure will not happen again elsewhere?

Or do Jagex not care a fuck if it happens again, because they just do not care or are not interested?

ie they will know when an outage does happen (not before, so they can prevent it, but when it does happen, so they can watch it shutting everything down lol)

"and can usually restore" ... ie it's been shut down and we can do what we did the last time (after another day of the game being offline again)

Runescape is now driven by in game purchases and TH and Bond purchases, their economy has completely shifted and they have shifted their focus from gamers to the quick buck.

Downtime? ... reboot and bring on the in game buy to play stuff.

If thats Jagex's gameplay model from now on,I wish them well.

No bucks from me though ;)

Duh, obviously - for example in the United States, in several European countries and elsewhere.

By definition, you cannot assess something that is unpredictable and has not happened yet.

If you have a method for predicting unanticipated catastrophic events, you should be able to make an absolute fortune selling it to every company that uses data servers.

im not worried caus my 10 year ac wasnt harmed
i would rather time off than loose tonnes of skilling /achievements

this is internet and coding it can go wrong

jagex only owes if you loose
12 hours+ off is like 20p in membership

jagex took care of things as best they could


hopefully one day a glitch in the system resets profound title, thatll be worth compensation
or maybe ultimate slayer

This has been some time now, so long that Twitter has now become public access again. That took several years to occur.

The reason it takes so long is becoming clear, and it's ludicrous. They can't find anyone to test the game. For whatever reason, in whatever reality that is possible. Devs keep saying they fixed stuff months ago but can't get it tested.

A great example is the elite dungeon reward enhance tokens. You can freely convert them between dungeons. So why not make them work anywhere? Great, they did that!

Now it seems, since it couldn't get tested, they abandoned it and made the new Zamorak tokens have a different price. Instead of being a heroic gesture, they threw us ice cream cones and blame us for dropping them.

Personally, I don't like it. Previous ownership treated us way better. As valued partners. Like we are down in the mines with them, working for the common good. We kept the lights on and they shared the profits with us. It was mutually beneficial. A symbiont circle.

Now I am expecting their next event to literally feature an ice cream tossing machine.
