Constructive Criticism

You know which game could benefit from all of that talent within the new Jagex Partners division? RuneScape.

For example, I think we all can agree that the roll-out of Runepass was anything but ideal. As a customer of Jagex & a shareholder it is troubling to see Jagex continue to utilize a marketing strategy that purposely creates chaotic negative feedback & customer confusion about a product.

Good gravy, can somebody there at Jagex please inform the folks who thought generation flux is a demographic that it is not. Come on now, Jagex can't actually believe that creating a social media 'buzz' based solely on negative feedback about a product is a viable marketing strategy? FYI, customers do not thrive on a steady diet of chaotic negativity & confusion.

If I may be blunt, isn't it about time that someone from the top rungs of the corporate ladder step up to the plate & out of the shadows & communicate with the customer? Surely the top rungs of the corporate ladder are not so out of touch with their customer base that they believe everything is just fine & dandy do they?

One might believe that to be true based on the public interviews & speeches they have given. The company objectives & vision that are outlined in those interviews & speeches are not what is being communicated to the customer by their subordinates. Reading those interviews or hearing the speeches one would think that the top rungs of the corporate ladder are discussing a totally different game studio & product.

It is also troubling that customers of Jagex can not find out additional information after the release of new products such as these on Jagexs official website too. Customers normally have questions after a release whether it be about a product or an update.

One would think that you would be able to find the answer to those questions on the same platform where the initial release regarding a product or an update was made. Jagex has become beyond indifferent when it comes to providing feedback to customer questions or feedback on its official website. It is not uncommon to find RSOF completely void of any response from Jagex to any questions asked or feedback left here after the initial release of information on a product or update.

Rather than take the time to produce a written FAQ on Runepass that allowed for a follow-up Q&A that could of been posted to the official website, thereby directing traffic inbound to Jagex own website, Jagex once again responded only to questions that were posted to a 'fansite' on Reddit that is not officially maintained by Jagex.

Because Jagexs own official website was completely void of any communication on Runepass, the customer had to wade though an endless hot mess of threads searching for answers over multiple days on third party platforms!

As you can note the only thread found on RSOF that had any sort of acknowledgement to the feedback being left on RSOF after the release of Runepass was on the RE: Treasure Hunter & RunePass by Mexk Qfc 15-16-331-66024010 thread. That little bit of gold did not include any coments on the content of the thread or answered any questions.

It appears that RSOF had been completely abandoned by the Jmods when it came to answering any questions or concerns about Runepass or Double Keys.

Let's take a look at some of the Runepass feedback threads that were posted to RSOF. This search does not include any of the forums that you have to log on to the website to view.

It also appears that the Jmods didn't even bother to address any of the bugs associated with Runepass or Double Keys on RSOF, the companies own website either.

Good gravy, Jagex had CUSTOMERS that WANTED to GIVE Jagex MONEY to PURCHASE these MTX products! These customers took their time to post about those concerns right here on RSOF, the companies own website & nobody from Jagex addressed those concerns! How sad is that?!

I wonder how much revenue is being lost associationed with the Double Key package too. Not only are some customers that want to buy the Double Key package still not able to purchase it there are also customers that would buy the Double Key package if they had the option to use bonds to purchase it too.

There appeared to be a fair amount of people who thought that they would be able to purchase the Double Key package with bonds since the Live Events Forum Q&A stated "However, in July we will offer you the ability to trade one bond (or equivalent in real world currency) to continue 1 month of double daily keys!."

Nine days later the Live Events Dev Blog #1 came out & stated "For a small price, players will receive double their normal daily keys allowance for 30 days." I guess Jagex customers were somehow suppose to "know" that "for a small price" in Jagxese translated to "dude, you gots to pay cash".

What the heck is up with that?! Pretty sure those tidbits of information never made it up to the top of the chain of command.

What is equally troubling is that Jagex hasn't even bothered to produce any type of follow up communication based on feedback & analytics to its customers on Runepass regarding if this will be a product that will be available in the future either. After all Runepass was introduced as a experimental MTX prototype.

RuneScape customers, including those who utilize Jagexs OFFICIAL website deserve much better than this. I know Jagex can do better. Jagex knows Jagex can do better.

Official Jagex Twitter List



Who ever is in charge of the Official Jagex Twitter list may want to consider doing some housekeeping. Some people are saying that the Jagex Official Twitter list contains a bunch of ex employees. I took a look at it & the list sure does appear to list a number of ex employees on it. I do recall the Jagex Official Twitter list use to be updated to remove ex employees but that was quite awhile ago. I guess the task of keeping such lists up to date has fallen by the wayside?

Some people are saying that the Jagex Official Twitter list looks unprofessional & sloppy by showcasing ex employees as part of the Jagex team long after they have left employment. It also tends to showcase a lack of attention to detail & leadership with keeping information up to date. Tbh, I can't think of any company that allows their ex employees to be listed on an official company list after those employees have left so I agree with what these folks were saying.

Since it appears the Jagex Official Twitter list is not being update some people mentioned that there is lack of consistency when it comes to deactivating ex employee Jagex Official Twitter accounts too. It appears that some Jagex Official Twitter accounts are deactivated right away, sometimes even before they exit the building while other ex employees accounts are not. What some people were also saying is that it is noticeable that of all the ex employees that are still listed on the Jagex Official Twitter list none of them are female. Not sure what to make of this but it is worthwhile to note though since it is noticeable. Surely keeping an Jagex Official Twitter account after you leave the employment at Jagex isn't just a 'guy thing' is it?

The bigger question is why on earth is Jagex allowing ex employees to keep their Jagex official twitter accounts & listing them on the Jagex Official Twitter list after they have left Jagex?
