Hey all,

Do you think Player Moderators should have a silver background and a crown on the forums? I think they should and here is why.

1) It is a symbol of trust and gives credibility to player mods who post on the forums.
2) If someone is being harassed in game and posts it on the forums, a player mod could actually reply with advice and potentially log into the game to deal with the parties involved.
3) Makes event hosting easier and look more legit since a lot of p mods I know like to host events.

Those are all I could think of so far. I think it's weird that it's hidden. I get that being a p mod in game doesn't affect the forums but there are things p mods can take from the forums and apply in game.

@Ownage Omg: Hi there!

I don't believe this is necessary as it never has been for obvious reasons. For one, and I assume it's the most important factor, Player Moderators do not have tools nor abilities to moderate the Forums. That specific duty, as you are well aware, falls to the hands of Forum Moderators, whom we are able to identify here.

Sadly, the Forums are not meant and should not be used as a means to report in-game harassment. That's why we have the in-game reporting tool. If someone were to post regarding an issue in-game, we as players here are unable to verify what they are saying because there is no proof. That's where the in-game reporting feature comes along: it captures the incident so that Jagex is able to deal with it appropriately.

Additionally, I'm sure that they have their own guidelines and steps to follow when trying to host an event here on the Forums. There are dedicated threads for that ( Pink Skirts - PMod Events ) and there has never been a problem. I personally think that identifying a Player Moderator here on the Forums for the purposes of hosting an event is unnecessary as you will eventually see their crown in-game when you attend such event.

All in all, I think Moderators are able to identify each other here on the Forums. Player Moderators do not need to be labeled on the Forums due to the simple fact that their place of voluntary duty is in-game and not here. Of course, this doesn't apply if the P-Mod in question is a Dual Moderator as then they will be able to carry out their duties here. I don't think they'd want to be singled out on the Forums as they too would love to enjoy their privacy. If a P-Mod is identified, then they'd be targets for people that need them to go to a certain place in-game and what not. I'm sure they wouldn't want this unnecessary and unwanted attention. This is the same for Forum Moderators if they were to be labeled in-game. It's fine as is.

Nope.

PMods have no powers/tools on the forums, in the same way that FMods have no additional tools in game so identifying them with a coloured background or whatever would be pointless.

Plus... a lot of PMods prefer the quiet privacy of just posting as a player when it comes to the forums.

Hey Ana/Rooh

I never actually considered possible harassment p mods could face from players reporting on the forums. That being said, wouldn't the same thing apply to f mods anyway? It's no secret that 90% of you are dualies anyway.

My main reason is just the issue surrounding trust and trustworthy sources. This might sound ridiculous but it opens up whole new markets such as name trading and swapping as p mods can middle man the trades. :)

Basically what I implied here is that p mods are supposed to be helpful players who encourage players to follow the rules. A lot of people come to the forums seeking help from these p mods. Atm you're not allowed to even mention it if you are one so why not just make it official and give p mods the opportunity to actively find people who require their help.

Honestly not a bad idea, however I could see confusion among some players believing that Player Mods hold power on the forums.

In my opinion I think we should keep it the way it is now. This way there is no confusion of who has moderating capabilities on the forums.
