I've done some tidying on this thread and unlocked it as it definitely seemed to go off topic.
I don't really have a stake in P-Mods having a silver background. Might make some threads quite colourful? We have a lot of P-Mods
I think bouncing around ideas like this is useful though. The understanding is of course that only the P-Mods (with the support of Jagex) could make the ultimate call, but there's no harm in having a constructive conversation like this. Who knows? A P-Mod might see this thread and think it's an excellent idea, before going on to pitch it in their own forums! Suddenly everything is silver!
As Louiellen said though, we shouldn't assume that we can speak for P-Mods. But I recognise that OP (and the comments) were largely constructive & discussive and not in the slightest bit demanding or discursive, so I've removed a lot of the conversation around whether we could discuss this so that we could just get back to the point at hand.
I'd also like to say that I will be having a few conversations off the back of this thread. I think it's important that we all realign, so we can better support each other as a community no matter where you fit in to this great big family we have here. To that end, I encourage community suggestions for what we can do to the community space we have here, the moderators and their approach or anything else. Not on this thread of course, but you can always direct them towards me in other places. If the demand is there, I can set up a thread which will auto-hide responses to allow for anonymity.
@Ownage Omg, my apology for not thinking open-minded and no this isn’t a futile suggestion, I was still thinking the old ways.
Do you think Player Moderators should have a silver background and a crown on the forums? I think they should and here is why.
I think that “ALL” moderators in The RSOF, except Jagex Moderators and their hired Local Moderators, should become Player Moderators with a “Silver Background”. Why?
- in RuneScape. in-game, that’s the only moderator we see, apart from Jagex Moderators. So making both areas looking the same makes it easier for players to make contact with moderators.
- in The RSOF we are already being helped by Player Moderators …
- most feedback in The RSOF is RuneScape related feedback which requires game-knowledge
- most Jagex Mentors helping out Player Moderators also happen to have experience in The RSOF helping this Team from the very early beginning with how to make contact and how to speak up to The RuneScape Community.
- Because this Team is huge, coverage of difficult “timezones” will be easier and more relaxing for them as well as a Team.
- contacts between Community Helpers & Player Moderators are good.
- events can again be hosted from The RSOF as how it was.
- having FMods in The RSOF and PMods in RuneScape, have always caused a massive stressful situation in The RuneScape Community. Up to this day it still isn’t solved and will always cause confusion and unnecessary bickering throughout The RSOF. Having “One Team” with “One Voice” over both places will, after a while, calm things down to an acceptable level.
- Now both areas are the same, The RSOF will be better represented in RuneScape so more feedback in the right place where it should exist.
- with PMods at the helm in The RSOF a lot of gaming information, we now miss, will reach us easier so we don’t have to go to Social Media.
