I actually don't remember my first post specifically, but I want to say the reason I came to the forums in the first place was to look at one of the many available members benefits after I subscribed for the first time.

I remember I was at home in Tech Support and that's where I really started what some of my friends at the time referred to as my "Foruming Addiction". It was great to help out and share some knowledge with anyone who may have been having some trouble - keeping in mind it was much easier to troubleshoot as RuneScape was in browser only (even the client at the time was simply a toolbar-stripped IE window that launched right to the RuneScape home page).

I want to say I started actually using the forums right after the update where hidden posts no longer just disappeared, though I remember browsing a few times prior to that update and being confused as to why there were empty pages or pages with only one or two posts. :P

Nice thread! I've read everyone's posts. =)

I started reading the forums as a f2p. F2p couldn't post back then. The forums were helpful both in encouraging playing RS and giving information on practically everything.

When I got membership, I'd post on threads and killed everyone of them. =( So I stopped posting but still read everything. All the scandals and riots - everything interested me. You couldn't keep up with all the threads. I read mostly RGU and Rants.

Then for a while, I stopped playing RS. Even though I cbb to log on to the game, I would still check the forums. Eventually, reading them sparked my interest in playing again. =)

I still don't post much but I read the forums everyday.

I don't remember my first forum post, but I can say with 100% certainty it was in the market place to either buy or sell something because there was no grand exchange available to my convenience.

I was active on a fansite forum for friendly discussions, which slowly lost users pushing me over on the official forums.

My first experience was by accident. I stumbled across a link I hadn't seen before and clicked it. Ended up in the marketplace forums where I tried to buy a rune shield and some feathers. I spent 20 minutes with my dial up connection loading one post. It was awesome. StarScape V1 - Check us out!

The forums have changed so much since I started using them and were more obscure than today. One thing that annoyed me was that spaces in one name did not display as they currently do. My name would have displayed as 2 2 5 instead of 2---2-5. What made this matter worse was there happened to be player who's name was 2 2 5 (hiscores no longer shows such a player), and while this player never did post, it had potential to be rather aggravating should they have. The naming issue also lead to a number of accusations when some would attempt to look my skill up. Eventually It lead to a very long lived thread, once having the title of being the oldest thread on the forums, that might have lead to spaces finally displaying correctly in names.

Back then, massive threads were possible...the 2k limit was non existent.
