I do agree the frequency of which its asking me to complete a CAPTCHA is quite silly. I do understand the need for security but it should be lightened up slightly. I don't see why CAPTCHA's need to be done every time I log in or out due to some uncertainty it's finding.

My hope is that there can be a balance between security and enjoyment of using the website. The frequency is just too much atm.

Just my 2 cents. :P

Are any of you really wasting your time solving strings of CAPTCHAs in order to be allowed to leave the forums once you're done posting? O_o

Good Guthix. Just sign out. Click the X to close the "Are you a robot?" invitation to be CAPTCHAd and go on with whatever it is you actually want to do next.

The only time I see the "Are you a robot?" query is upon leaving the RSOF. See above for how I handle that.

I still don't understand why one needs to do a CAPTCHA when logging into the forums. Are they afraid that a bot is going to troll/scam the forums? It certainly won't keep out the bot owners. I can see it for the game, but not for the forums.

Are you seriously implying Jagex has no way to tell whether someone is simply logging out of their own account, or has been forced off the forums via a hijacking?

Furthermore, using a shadowy, third-party CAPTCHA peddler is supposed to make our accounts more secure?

No, I don't buy it. I'll just log out when I am done, thank you. What I am implying is that Jagex/JMods are allowed to investigate/protect, things they do see as a threat or have a reasonable impression/feeling that what they do helps to solve issues on the long run.

Players who do seek ways to circumvent these 'captcha(s)' are making it themselves more difficult to get rid of it as changing routines will alarm the system throwing around more and more captcha(s).
Jagex's Systems aren't seeking more intel/information of a player, they only wanna prove/see proof that whomever is contacting their systems proofs to be who they are to be and nothing else inbetween. Even if that includes players ending that contact to their systems.
