Google are not involved with our CAPTCHA challenges anywhere on the RuneScape websites, the CAPTCHA challenges are served through a third party who have integrated with 'hCAPTCHA'.

Even if they were, they are not targeting anyone and have no reason to be doing so. If you are continually being challenged, that is likely due to privacy extensions or other changes to do with your device. Any CAPTCHA challenges are not 'we need help to see what trucks look like' but 'this specific request is a little unusual - lets ask them to click the trucks to be sure its a legitimate request'

I'm not sure how to even check such things. If there are any changes to this device it is automatic from a Windows or Chrome update. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, the last time I received a captcha before this current ongoing session was January of 2020.

Actually, I just found the source of my confusion. So presumably, everything has changed since that point in time......

Correct. We are continually updating our security systems, we do not discuss those improvements and have moved on, for now at least, from Google's reCAPTCHA solution that was in effect at the time of that post.

OK fair enough.

The only other thing I would point out is I don't even enter my password on the site. It is saved with automatic login, from the browser or however that works. There should be zero failed logins on the site, although I may typo the pass in-game occasionally.

So from my POV they are not accomplishing much by targeting me, for whatever trigger I set off.

Right, so when I click "Logout", that sends a red alert to the systems.

"All hands on deck! This 'user' is trying to log out of the website! Go! Go! GO!!!"

I just read the 'hcaptcha' FAQ on their site. To see what I might be doing wrong.

It wasn't very helpful at first. Most of it was describing how someone is earning money for highly accurate captcha submissions, such as the ones I provide.

But I did find some description of the activity they claim to monitor.

Which is like everything. Which makes it even more ridiculous that I would be getting a 100% hit rate.

Now I'm thinking I should only enter this site from in-game links.

Exactly. Or this:

Not too long after my last post here, I logged into a few alt accounts for the first time in over 100 days. Each time, I got the automated "welcome back" message you get when you haven't played in a while, and each time, I was asked to solve ANOTHER captcha. Mind you, this was from an automatic process that Jagex themselves initiate when you take a break from RS. Beyond pathetic.

"This 'user' has logged in to their alt account for the first time in 100 days, ENGAGE BATTLE POSITIONS!!!"

What a joke lmfao.

This is really annoying. I understand that once or twice a day maybe for security reasons it's necessary, but sometimes after 10 minutes browsing the forum they ask again, I really agree that they should lighten up a bit.
