^ Yeh, it's great to see more feedback from the Jmods, isn't it!

And since Mod Infinity's confirmed Chrisso's leaving, I guess I'm allowed to publicly join in with your own well wishes for him in the future! He's been one of the most active Jmods I've seen on the forums through all his changes of team and one that's really engaged with the community 'where we're at'. I'm very sad he's going, but I'm sure it's a positive thing for him; there's always a silver lining, ay?

Thank you Mod Chrisso for all you've done, and particularly for your interactions in this forum and with the Rants community. You're a star, and I'm sure you will continue to be one wherever you go!

Regarding a new thread, funnily enough I had a discussion about that in game very recently. Personally, I don't think it's necessary. We've hardly started this one after all. It's not the identity of the first Jmod to make the thread that really matters I feel, it's the community who use it, and we're still here. :) That's just my take on it though. :)

From a business perspective, allowing non-employees to be showcased gives the appearance that the company isn't taking the time to keep their venue tidy & up to date for their customer base.

In the area of liability, there are many reasons why an employee user name should be retired & all traces of it that are shown in an official capacity removed from the venue. It insures that the customers no longer associate that name as being an employee.

It would also be critical to eliminate any official means of communication with the customer base by the non-employee too, such as social media accounts & any in-game official sanctioned Clan or Friends Chat activity too. This is all pretty standard stuff that a business does when an employee leaves empolyment.

From an end-user perspective, one of the issues about threads that fit into the category of looking outdated or are considered outdated is because the Jmod who created the thread is no longer an employee.

On page one of this thread you can find this comment; 'Well, why not, it would be good to have an OP who's actually still with Jagex, if nothing else!'. Similar type comments can also be found on threads that have been created regarding outdated threads that are in need of updating.

Even though the thread is young, if the Opening Post can not be updated then it shouldn't be a problem to refresh it by having a host that is actually an employee. After all the prior version of this thread was refreshed with that being a noteworthy reason for doing so.

" On page one of this thread you can find this comment; 'Well, why not, it would be good to have an OP who's actually still with Jagex, if nothing else!'. "

Lol, how tactful of you not to point out that it was actually me who said that. :P *chuckles*

Well, as I said, personally I don't think it needs it yet, but I'd be fine if a Jmod wanted to take it upon themselves to do a refresh, up to them really. Chat threads are a bit different from other Jmod instigated threads in my opinion, since it's not primarily the creator of the first post you're relating to or hoping will respond or action any requests. The purpose is primarily for members of the community to relate to each other. If the OP or any other Jmod drops by too, that's great, but not essential or expected.

But yeh, no strong feelings one way or the other. I don't think it's urgent at least. :P

Really? So now the thread is *different* because it contains the word 'chat' in it now? As noted at the same time the thread was *refreshed* the title was changed to include the word chat. However, a review of this threads content will show that the thread isn't being utilized as a typical 'chat' thread would be either. One of the underlying goals associated with including the word 'chat' in the title was to increase user traffic to the thread. However, in my opinion, that goal failed horribly.

Not only did that goal fail horribly, but by including links in the opening post, which btw, you don't see posted on a chat type thread, Chrisso actually directed user traffic away from an already slow moving thread. Go figure right? What happens when those folks that would of posted their comment here go to one of those other threads that they think their comment might fit to? Lolz, they are told on that thread to use this one. Really guys?

I'd say this threads opening post needs to *refreshed* for that reason alone. Get rid of those links, they are not needed. The *recommended* threads for the most part are already sticky threads that the forum user sees already *because* they are sticky threads at the top of the forum just like this one is.

Was any of the feedback that was objecting to the initial pending format changes considered at all? Nope, it is pretty obvious that the only feedback acknowledged was done on a very selective bases, which of course was in support of those changes as they snowballed. But that is pretty typical, however, it was a bit disappointing that it was so obvious though. In my opinion, (because I tend to read content objectively) all other feedback was brushed aside & not even considered.

The only thing the new format accomplished, besides getting rid of an ex-employees name, was to loose a format that *worked* for over two years & a format that was welcoming to *all* users, no matter what they wanted to post about the W&F.

Btw, I am hopeful that someone will note these comments and that this thread will be *refreshed* so we won't have an ex-employee as a *host* again, as well as, read the contents of this thread *objectively* & consider *all* the feedback posted here too.

Best of luck with getting a new forum, everyone. I'm not going to be posting as Mod Chrisso again in this forum area, so I just wanted to say thanks for being passionate about the forum and I'll be around on my forum choob (with the delicious name in the below post).

Have a great Christmas and New Year, everyone!

Many thanks,

Mod Chrisso

Goodbye Mod Chrisso, and hello Bacon! Welcome to the green team!

Out of the frying pan and into the fire huh? I'm sure you'll keep things sizzling hot as ever in W&F in your green capacity. I can't see you getting ham sick for your old gold ways and streakying back with your curly tail between your legs!

He he he, oh revenge is such sweet joy! Roll on the bacon puns!

All,
Chrisso's quitting farewell thread here . Winds and Mistii, you should go take a look. :D

I'm terribly sorry about leaving off like that, I got sidetracked by events in life (still ongoing), it must have appeared awfully rude, and I had no intention of being so.

I've had to go to look affter a neighbour (and his animals) due to him falling quite serriously ill; this is arround 48 miles away, and where I am from it's below -30 most of the time, so I haven't really had the time to come back and post an explanation for myself, as leaving them for that time to treck back would have been a little unfair on their saftey.

I've just popped back to fetch my little sister, so that she can spend the 'Christmas' period with some of the distant family who should be passing the neighbours place at some point (we don't celebrate every Year, odd as that seems but every 4, with a larger one every 32, but it's still usual to be with family).

I hope this apology is sufficient, and I aim to make ammends by finishing things of upon my eventual return.

All the best, and I hope you are all having wonderful and happy Christmas times; love to all your friends/families and take care ! : D

Sorry for all the unecessary talk, I am not sure how best to excuse my behaviour without a full explanation, so I hope that's understandable.
