Haha, well I'm not sure it's "possible" though with how the quotes currently work, since clicking the quote button simply enters that text into the reply box.

Since there's no reply box when a topic's locked (which does make sense), I'm not sure how else it would be able to work unless locked topics had a reply box just with no 'post' button. I'm not sure how worthwhile or doable something like that would be to add, though.

All you need is the quote id. quote id=278-279-715-65175740-1006-338392368 for your post. As you can see, the first part is the QFC followed by post number in the thread then its followed by what I can only assume is number of posts in the forum. The last part makes it hard.

A half-quote ability would be to "highlight a post". Once you click the triangle, the URL will change to have an ending of: 278,279,715,65175740,escalate,1006,338392368 for your post, for example.

Just convert it to: 278-279-715-65175740-1006-338392368

THEN:

True, but JMods' posts (locked thread or not) can't be highlighted to get that last bit for the quote ID, so that would only work for non-JMod posts.
