I look at it more like Reddit.
Not many people may use the up/down vote feature next ot the post but a lot more people are more likely to use the in thread poll.

So if I made a suggestion thread, I'd be more likely to see how many Support/No support votes for a given idea instead of just a handful of comments.

I think a poll feature is a great friendly gesture to welcome players to approach the RuneScape forums more often. The forums help create conversations between one another, it is important to intact this as it creates a healthy, functioning and knowledgeable community.

Talking about other websites reminds me of the OSRS, RS3, Iron situation we have going on, it just separates the community and makes things very *fumbled* like. Things are said here and there and nothing gets taken seriously, which is bad. Eventually things fall apart because people are fighting for different games *OSRS,RS3,Irons* and situations, which is what RuneScape used to never contain.
Be nice and help people
........ * No sarcasm towards this action please. * :P IGN:

Either you dont use reddit much or just are ill-informed but im sure a vast majority of ppl use the up/downvote as thats how ppl amass karma.

Plus like said already, not many ppl use the forums thus the polls wouldnt get much results even if they did happen.

If this were the truth then they wouldve happened already yet they havent.

Thus i have to disagree with this statement.

Draco, we could go back in time and apply this logic in 2008 about BBCode and images and yet here we are. Don't get yourself caught up in the fallacy that just because something doesn't exist or isn't a certain way means that it isn't wanted, needed, and/or useful to some degree. This is called innovation.

I agree with you that the feature isn't needed as I mentioned already, but, if Jagex happens to put some dev time towards the RSOF platform and there's time in there for new features above and beyond what is needed, then there's no reason this one couldn't be on the list.

No this isnt needed by any means as mentioned by Tuffty, its already possible.

What part of that dont ppl get?

You can already do this so whats stopping you?

Why must everything be done by jagex?

Actually Draco, you're quite incorrect.

I've posted a number of polls on the RS subreddit over the last year.
It's not uncommon to get 200-700 users voting on the poll.
yet if you look at the up/down vote, it doesn't show much activity. even for an idea that had like 75% in favor of it in the poll, they didn't upvote the post and the percentage that the tracking gives you is no consistent with the poll results.

besides, the forums here don't have that up/down voting and even then, posting itself is somewhat limited.

besides, doing a poll vote inside the post is anonymous (true, so is an up/down vote on reddit) and often easier for the user to do than to type in something.

What does posting a poll on reddit have to do with posting one on the forums?...

Plus of course a poll post wouldnt get much traffic as far as up/down votes as you usually get more use from them on the discussion posts.

Ok and the point of this is what?

How does this mean this should happen?
