Furthermore, Reddit, Twitter, Discord, etc., allows players to be more "open" and less restricted to what they say and do as compared to using the Forums. While you are here, you have to follow and respect Jagex's rules. These Social Media sites permit users to do more things than they can here on the Forums. Additionally, Jagex is also able to target a wider audience than the Forums.

Yes, but social media like Reddit and Twitter have much less tolerance on trolls harassing their users and misusing their platforms. They don't have the extremely lenient 3-strike Forum rule in these RSOF and usually one strike and they are [deleted]... and [deleted] means [deleted] permanently, not that one can make another alt and start afresh as a clean "new" user who knows "nothing" about the game.

We have strong interactions with the Lmod team - that happens everyday, it takes an effort to directly receive communication from Jmods though and our interactions with the higher-ups are limited to housekeeping issues for RSOF. That is universal across the board, this position does not give us VIP treatment with regards to communicating with Jmods.

Secondly, the public through this W&F section has stronger voice believe it or not with regards to establishing massive changes to RSOF. Mod Lyon emanates from Jagex web team, and regularly reads threads here in W&F. As fmods are not reporting to Mod Lyon and the web team, we have no direct communication line with them better than the public already has.

This surely has to be a joke; the Jmods may read this section every day, but barely anything gets acted on and barely anything changes. The last time a massive change occurred was when they finally allowed image posting in 2016.

This is why I don't bother replying on these kinds of threads anymore.

But you sure did contradicted yourself by posting a reply. *shrugs*

My post is not for you who understands the situation, but for the thread author who keep on promoting the idea that fmods have VIP-level contacts to decision maker Jmods.

Mod Lyon in the grand scheme of things is just one person in the entire Jmod Web team, he's a communicator here and not the decision maker. Just like the saying goes, don't shoot the messenger.

Thank you for clarifying, Louiellen -

Life is like a camera: Just focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, take another shot !

@ ana

love how you write,, do not get me wrong... i say first thing to change is in each and every one of us start to think it will change not that it wont happen till x x x happens first

second we need a forum mod and as many as we possibly can to become our leader/leaders to confront jax.. and i dont mean in spirit only i mean actually forcefully step up to the plate and seriously push every meeting every legit contact .. not just once per week not once per day ,,, i mean as many times as they passable can and consistency poke at the higher ups . we as a group must declarer them our champion and stand behind them 100 percent

third we as a group must stay constant actively seeking change, life happens but if one wants change then they must stand up and do what needs to be done

forth as the project starts to form,,, we as a group must have suggestions and ideas ready .. this is not a one sided coin,, if we want some thing we must make the effort in doing some of the work
Uhhhmm ..., I would suggest you need an audience and more specific an audience of The RuneScape Community that loves to communicate in here making it their "home". :)

We need forum achievements.

We already have Forum Achievements like post counts and the gems associated with them. What else can be classified as "achievements"? And don't forget we can't even show in game Title because of a forum bug. How do they miraculously show Forum Achievements while Jagex claimed in game Achievement like our hard earned Titles can't be shown in the forums because of a long standing bug?

TBH, if any non-Jmods who should have VIP-level contacts to decision maker Jmods, these people should be the CMs, not the Fmods as the "decision maker Jmods" probably won't have time to deal with so many Fmods.

The other point I want to make is despite many complaints on these RSOF that Jmods don't read or don't care about forum posts, I have seen in many occasions in and out of these RSOF that various Jmods indicated they visited and read RSOF posts often.

One example is in a Lore Q&A Jmod Livestream, the Jmods talked about the RSOF and they said they did read many posts and get the ideas of their quests and lore based content from some of the very interesting ones. However, they also addressed why they didn't post here often. At least my interpretation is while they think many comments are interesting there are always some really wrong ones posted by stubborn users. They don't want to get into arguments with the more stubborn ones like those who insisted Zamorak slipped and stabbed Zaros accidentally. :D

That said, I got the impressions that regardless of what VIP level contact someones have with the Jmods, it won't make a big difference if they don't think such people's ideas are right. They still won't address them. :)
