@Mrs Ana every thing you are saying is accurate and true,, and i dont disagree with 99 percent,,, i only said that i disagree that nothing can be changed " till jax " statement

i say we keep pushing the idea of change every day,,, multiple times till jax get tired of seeing and it does some thing.. might take a day,,, might take years .. but we should never give up because we think its falling on deaf ears

Sadly, the statement is 100% correct: Until Jagex makes the first move, nothing else can be done. We have been fighting nonstop for years to have the Forums updated and we still are; however, we are unable to get anything done until the people in charge make the move after having the necessary time available.

If it helps, you may wish to take a look at these threads:

Forum Overhaul
Forum Notifications & Changes

Both threads have responses from Mod Lyon, who is the only Jagex Moderator who actively roams around this sub-forum and is the only person that has actually responded within the last few years to the ideas of having a Forums update. I'll add those quotes below for your convenience:
Original message details are unavailable.
There are some great suggestions in here. A few are long requested features and things that I'd love for our team to get the time to work on, unfortunately as you may know other things are taking priority at the moment (and will be for some time)

One day we'll get round to the forums, I hope. I think regardless of its problems, its a great resource for us to be able to gather feedback just like this :)

Hey Corder,

Thanks so much for the suggestions. Some new and not so new suggestions there.

I think there are some we're more likely to think about than others, I don't feel the "active users now" is accurate and just leads to some of our users misunderstanding because of it, for example so we'd leave any further activity monitor our of updates and frankly probably get rid of the existing one. It doesn't add much value.

Notifications on the other hand, definitely a must have from the community minded JMods if we had free reign over these updates.

Like Mrs Ana shared, the forums aren't [regrettably] our current priority, and we're working hard on some big development sized work at the moment. I'll keep your thread on our community suggestions notes though and relay this to the rest of the team, if we manage to get round to updating these hallowed halls.

Thanks,
Mod Lyon

Mod Lyon works in Jagex Web Team so I'm 100% sure that he'd be the most appropriate person to speak to regarding the Forums being updated. As he has already mentioned, they do not have the time and will not have the time for a while as they are focused on bigger projects. The Forums are not their priority and will not be for some time until those projects are completed.

You may take a look at the threads I have shared above and at his responses. That's the closest we will get for now until an update is available.

Interesting. One would think that the game's official resource of media and communication would be high on the priority list, but I guess not.

i appreciate your work to show me his posts.

and i agree that he would be the best chance,,,

i disagree with his assessment that lack of time is the reason for the failure it might be accurate at this moment but its a lame excuse

and this is one thing i believe is some thing we can do about it

we have to request,,,, then demand,,, then force jax to make time

how ? i dont know but i think we can come up with ideas to make them to make time for change

I do agree that the Forums should receive more attention and should be the only place for them to communicate with the community, but with the current Social Media state, that's very hard to accomplish for the reasons mentioned before. We'd first then an update to attract more players to the Forums and then that may increase the population to how it were before; however, considering how easy it is to use Social Media, the audience that it possesses, and the tools/add-ons that are available there but not here on the Forums, we may not have that many players back here again.

All in all, I want the Forums to be how they were before during the Golden Age, but if no update is near and no attention is given, then the Forums will stay as is. Until the time is available, as per Mod Lyon, the Web Team may not be able to do anything and the Forums will keep falling behind Social Media.
