Woooo!

EDIT: Aww, mine does have .jpg or .gif either, hence why it's not working :(
Your image worked for me on Chrome, though none of the images on the second page worked until I refreshed the page (maybe because I had just toggled off AdBlock)

The reason this works now is because Mod Allstar edited my post with the correct code in it. It wasn't working on any browser originally :P

Without trying to sound condescending I think 90% is a number plucked out of thin air to be honest.

I addressed this elsewhere why we didn't go with puush.

The reason we didn't go with puush was due to the "recent" malware infection.

If you take a look at the RuneScape Reddit you'll notice the majority of uploads are to imgur. As well as the reasons listed above, that's the main reason we went with imgur.

While 90% was a random guess, it was still an estimate based on my experience within various RS communities over the past couple of years. I have yet to see someone actually attempt to direct someone else (in-game) to imgur, but I've seen plenty of people/clannies sharing puush images of their drops, outfits, setups etc with each other.

At the moment 5 out of 13 image posts on the front page of the RS subreddit are puush/gyazo links, so I'd not say that the 'majority of uploads are to IMGur'
Besides, since when is an external site supposed to represent the actual player and/or forum userbase?

Puush's recent malware situation only affected those who had the software installed and downloaded the latest update. It didn't affect those who visited images uploaded to the database, where as IMGur had a security leak ~10 months ago that allowed someone to inject a flash file (Or something like that) to every file which played whenever anyone viewed an IMGur image. Of course something similar could happen to puush/gyazo and vice versa, but using it as a reason not to use it seems a bit off in my opinion.

Either way, being able to post images on the forums is, like I previously said, a nice addition that I will welcome even though I can't see myself using it a whole lot. Hopefully it will be expanded on the future.

A welcome update - nice to see.

Some feedback:

1) I'm sure it would be possible to set up methods to revert the image back to the placeholder. This could be useful for collapsing large images we don't need to look at anymore.

2) An option for large images to be scaled down could be useful. There could be a message below the placeholder, something like "this image is very large - would you like to view a scaled down version?"

On a semirelated note: I've been noticing some animosity from the web team towards players for being 'unreasonable' about complaining about updates that are already in the pipeline. This is very unprofessional. Players provide feedback and if that feedback is met with responses like "well, we can't say anything right now, watch this space," there is no reason to make any presumptions from that response.

If you want players to be more receptive of your upcoming updates, you need to share them upfront instead of hide them away.

They made them click to reveal, so if you see an image placeholder, don't click it? If someone wants to share images of their character, or images to help with a guide on a new quest or that sort of thing: they are there for those that want it and placeheld for those that don't. This hasn't ruined your life.

People will bitch about every update in some manner, it's best not to give them the attention they so obviously crave.
