Let's please shift the discussion back to the thread topic, and let's not bring real world politics in this and turn it into a discourse on that. That's not only outside of the scope of this thread, it's not productive. This thread has started to go off-topic.

I know this is a very heated thing to discuss, and people have very different opinions on the subject, but I'm sure we can continue this discussion in a civil manner that doesn't have to turn into political discourse or personal arguments.

Interesting thread. Enjoyed the read. I pretty much agree with Arch's post on the previous pages. There needs to be at least 10x more people using these forums, before any new additions to the FMod team, in my opinion.

Also, to those talking about electing FMods, I'm not sure if people remember, but around 2012/2013, there was a forum thread made in Compliments by a forumer where people were able to vote on some sort of monthly forum compliment thing for their help/community mind, etc, and the first person to win on that thread for the month, mysteriously got FMod right after it, despite having little to no posting history... the thread was just somewhere for everyone to vote for their friends, and it was always the same few people voting for each other. I don't think anything like that would work, especially for how little the forum community currently is.

I say we get rid of the local mods, and recruit more forum mods. The local mods serve no real purpose on the forums, they don't know the community, they don't know how the forums are run, and they seem more concerned with ruling over the community than being part of the community.

I think if people are going to be getting paid for moderating the community, it should be people who are actually part of the community, and people who care about the community, not people who are simply there for the paycheck.

I would rather see those who we know are there for the community (the people who have been volunteering for free for over a decade) being paid for their efforts, rather than random strangers who aren't part of the community and who don't even play the game.
I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great! :)
