If ppl are having emotional issue with the forums, they should go see a doctor not spend even more time here potentially causing their problems to get worse.
I mean why would ppl choose to spend time in a place thats causing them so much pain and issues?
That seems like it would be counterproductive IMO.
Either way, ive said how this would create an echo chamber and just because you choose to ignore it, ironic given the situation we're in, doesnt mean i need to keep telling you how.
Plus at the end of the day, 100% of the community can ask for this all they want but considering jagex does FA with the forums, just proves even more why this wont happen.
Way to miss the point. I also don't particularly see where you supported your echo chamber claim. Saying that's the case isn't the same as proving it.
You can't force people to read and respond to unwanted comments and you have no problem with people doing that, yet giving them the option to hide what they're already ignoring to make the act of doing so easier is too much? That doesn't make sense. If the act of ignoring itself is what you claim is causing an echo chamber then the same would apply even without an ignore function. The only way to prevent this supposed echo chamber would be to force everyone to read and respond to eachother's comments which just isn't possible both in terms of ability and in terms of people's autonomy.
If the act of ignoring someone in itself isn't applicable then the ignore function makes no difference to that. You're just opposed to making it easier for people to successfully do so without all the unnecessary and potentially draining amounts of effort that come with working against your own ability to passively perceive written text occupying your field of vision and anything you might take offense to within as you try to avoid interacting with someone aggravating. People shouldn't be forced to go through that and I've already explained some ways that can cause harm.

Adding comments about someone's Forum History isn't going to help out.
Post was removed just to keep the peace.

I've removed 1 of your posts as to Me anyway it seems a little baity. Lets not go there. If you think someone's comments aren't within the rules report it and let the F-Mods deal with it instead.

Yes just like you missed the point that ppl can ask for this all they want but does nothing if jagex doesnt put out any updates for the forums.
All it is is just wishful thinking as unless jagex makes it reality, ppl are just going to have to either deal with others or learn to ignore posts from ppl they dislike.
I mean you can get all the support you want, but its going on deafs ears if the devs do nothing about it.
Plus the other point you missed is this:

I didn't feel that those things warranted a response. Telling people not to suggest an improvement for something on the assumption that it'll never happen is self-defeating. Nothing will change or improve unless people express their desire for it and the type of change they want to see. In terms of the forums in general, I can think of a number of QoL features other forums have that help people navigate and maintain activity on them that may help the RS forums see more use. I also feel that the official forums on the official game site should be prioritized over social media outlets for community feedback and activity as a centralized and reliable location for the community. Neglecting it is a bad idea.
Whether or not someone is in need of counseling in relation to their negative forum experiences is irrelevant and misses the point of what I was saying. You kept trivializing the situation like it's effortless to ignore people that are bothering you and disregarding the kinds of strong feelings involved in resorting to such a feature to deal with someone that's negatively affecting your forum experience. It's also completely dismissive of problems that have no need to escalate any further and are within the means of the forum itself to address.
This, of course, leads us back to what I said in my previous comment, which you have yet to respond to. The reasoning you presented about echo chambers doesn't check out and all you really did was make an unsupported claim about it.

Support to have an option to hide specific players, but honestly these forums are a little dead so would this even be something worth putting in.
Forums need a lot of TLC in general; this is a pretty basic feature to ask for.
