We already have such "social media aggregator":
Quick find code: 15-16-726-66207418
This QFC takes us to a locked Recent Updates thread. I think you picked up the wrong code.

The problem is OSRS System Updates among other messages are very often not even posted by Jmods on social media, let alone the OSRS forums, although RS3 Jmods do regularly post such System Update reminders before every weekly update.
The question is why aren't there any OSRS forum users trying to help their beloved games and fellow OSRS forum users out?
As I've already mentioned on another thread, I can't answer this because I'm not involved with OS. However, if I were, I'd probably be campaigning for a news post to be attached to each system update - pretty much what I'm asking for here. I've already explained at the start of this thread why I believe this to be important.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the information that Jagex does give out. I'm merely suggesting a way that would make it easier for Jmods to disseminate news and easier for RS players to find. Aside from "OS manages fine without it", is there an issue you have with this principle?

Yes, I linked the wrong thread. This is the actual one where we can get aggregated news Jagex released to social media but not the RSOF:
Quick find code: 14-15-760-66205924
You can't answer the question why OSRS doesn't give us any news at all from social media, as well as there is no users willing to do it for their beloved game (unlike RS3) absolutely can't downplay the FACT that RS3 (the game you said you play) is giving us far more than Jagex's other current or past games (OSRS, RSC, Funorb, AoS, Load and Block, etc) already.
That said, the entire Jagex community as a whole across all their games think what you suggested is not needed so they are/were mum.

Regarding the thread you posted, this is exactly what I'm talking about. However, I'm asking for this to be automatic, not human controlled. Like I've said elsewhere, what happens when Loki is not available to update this thread?
Relying on a single player to fulfil this role is not a robust solution.
I'm not asking for anything new here. I'm merely asking for more robust protocols when it comes to this. The suggestion is to make what Jagex already do, easier.

How can anything be automatic without real player interaction? Note that (at least I believe) Loki has to manually browse through all the social media to bring us Jagex news and comments. Nothing is automatic.
And again, more importantly nobody or at least very few seem to ask for such service except you, just a RS3 player. Anyway, if you insist, I can ask the same question in the OSRS forum and see if anybody think they need such a service and are they being let down but the complete lack of such attention from OSRS Jmods for their entire 8 years of existence.

This doesn't make sense. I am asking for a computer to collect all news posts and put them into one location. By definition, this means zero player input.

Go to the OS forum and post the thread there then.
I am asking for this because there were other players as well as myself who were confused about the update in the evening of
. So, it seems that this request for added robustness into a service that is already provided is needed for some.
Remember, not all updates need to affect everyone. If this small change can help a few without harming anyone, then why are you still here trying to argue otherwise?

Do you know how much time and resources it will take Jagex to write such a program just for a few RSOF users?
No. They can't automate everything as most of the news from social media is not scripted responses from Jagex. Most of the time various Jmods just make various comments based on their knowledge on the fly. Even Jagex waste their precious time to develop such an "automated program", I bet few Jmods will write 9,000 words essays.
If your only qualm about this is the amount of time it'll take to code, then there's really no issue. This idea is to save them time in the long run. I guess it's only Jagex who can weigh up whether it's worth putting in the work now to gain in the future.
Hell, if they're not bothered about saving time in the future, then this could be a very low tech solution where Jmods get a message reminding them to post the message to the central knowledge hub as they publish it elsewhere.

They are already saving time in the past, now and in the future by doing livestreams instead of writing million words essays.
And yet they post updates to various Twitter handles, Facebook, Reddit, Discord, and whichever other social media they have. Are you saying they should stop doing all of that and just focus on the livestreams?

No. They won't stop, but they also won't spend and don't need to spend time posting duplicate just on the forums as they are working on some bigger "secret projects".
Eventually, Jagex will have their own equivalence of Battle.net where we can access all their games across all platforms as well as all the news. Hint... hint... Jagex's Partners.

So they're already working on something akin to what is being suggested here?
