If they're just going to ignore the posts on their own, which you state they should do instead of implementing an ignore function, then they wouldn't see the other side of the discussion anyways. Now that that's out of the way, let's let other players choose who's posts they see and don't see. Provided their ignore list elections don't have any bearing on where the ignored user can and can't post, there really is no issue.
No theyd still see it but just from the others who arent annoying them.
So you currently can choose which posts to see as it been already stated.
"You dont get to see the other side of the discussion thus possibly improve your original idea."
Who cares? it's not even important to see the "other side of the discussion"
This is a runescape forum, and nothing discussed here is of any real consequence or importance.
Me seeing your side of the discussion has literally no value to me. It's just an annoyance if I don't like you.
If all you do is disagree with everything I ever say then yeah, creating an echo chamber without your negative influence in it would be a net positive for me and others.
You've still failed to prove to me that echo chambers are a bad thing. I could see if parliament was forming opinions in an echo chamber. But lets be honest, nobody in the world cares about any of our opinions on the recent mini quest or skill rework in Runescape.

You're right! So then there's no reason to not add a feature that just removes the post from view, making ignoring it more convenient - seeing as it can be ignored anyway.

Food scientists have finally managed to remove the mint flavor from gum! The ex-spearmint was a success!
"Just because you think they dont have anything of value doesnt mean they dont."
Anything worth any real value in the real world, is probably against the rules to talk about in the Runescape forums, as it would be considered off topic or to controversial.

Yes just like youve failed to prove why they are a good thing. So im still waiting on that tid bit.
Also yes it is important to see both the good and bad about ideas as youd understand whats wrong about them and possibly see why it might not be needed.
