Wow, so mods cant be ignored but non-mods can, that seems backwards.

Unless i misunderstood.
No, it sounds like you've understood correctly.

Mods are so far less likely to spam and troll and harass and annoy that the benefit of being able to ignore them in case one did so is extremely outweighed by their need to communicate with you. The mods telling someone to stop doing X, Y, or Z does not constitute harassment and - if someone feels mod is harassing, there's another thread in this forum with an ongoing discussion about that process you might be interested in.

So no, mods should not be ignorable. Other users should be ignorable, but not prevented from posting.

Yet how cant we use this logic for non-mods?

Whats stopping ppl from just moving to other threads where the ppl who you dislike arent at?

I mean whats stopping mods from just going to these other threads the same way non-mods can?

Just because they're mods doesnt mean they cant annoy you.

Look up shadowbanning and youd see everything wrong with this.
Sorry, but i dont ever see this happening.

Shadow-banning isn't the same as blocking another user. Not in the least.

A website, in this case RuneScape's forum, could do a shadow-ban. That means everyone could probably see your posts, but it's less likely for you to be made relevant with each post.

If you block someone, then depending on how the website is set up, one of the following happens:

-You can't see their posts
-They can't see your posts
-You can't see each-other's posts.

Imagine I made this post, and you had me blocked: you'd not see it. End of story. Other people could.

Obviously, if someone else quotes it, it's possible it may slip through (also depends on the settings).

Remember, blocking someone DOESN'T stop them from posting, it just stops YOU, the BlOCKER from seeing it.

I think F mods should be blockable, because I don't support the existence of F mods in the first place.

F mods are a form of community self moderation.
Ignore lists are also a form of community self moderation.

I prefer that a little power be given to every one, instead of a lot of power being given to individuals who can abuse it.

"Its not like you can take that to FMR as they arent doing anything wrong."

Which is why a block function is needed, so people who are breaking major rules can be dealt with in a way that promote peace and reduces conflict, without the need for a mod or Jmod to intervene.

Perfect solution!

This doesnt promote "peace" in the slightest and anyone who thinks so is fooling themselves.

All it does is create echo-chambers as you then only get to see posts from ppl you agree with and thats not an active discussion.

If you cant take criticism, then maybe this isnt the place for you.

Yet i can do all of this just fine even w/o an ignore list and obviously loads of others as well as they just dont respond to those who easily anger them.

So like mentioned, just move to other discussing if ppl are annoying you.

Okay, then the person follows you to another post. Then another. Then another. Then another.

You aren't getting the big picture. If you can't block them, or ignore them as you claim, then they'll literally follow you around. You'll be forced to make new posts in other discussions over and over until eventually they'll deem you're spamming.

Rather, if you could just block the person, then it's not a dumb cat and mouse game. If they get on a ghost account, then you can just block that one. It is much easier to just block than it is to make a new discussion every few minutes when they inevitably follow you.

"just move to other discussing if ppl are annoying you."

This isn't a solution. Because annoying people can follow you from discussion to discussion.

Especially when asking for a compromise or asking the person to please leave you alone, and they don't. Then it should be considered harassment.

Either tighten up the rules to include that as harassment, or allow people to block each other.

There's no reason to allow players to annoy people who do not like them, it's unnecessary. You don't have a right to annoy people.
Runescape is an online fantasy video game, not a political debate panel, not every person needs a platform for their nonsense.
