Hey

So i don't think i'm the only one suffering from those quality of life aggravating, severe, painful diseases. I'm nearsighted. Extremly. Wearing contacts every day. Whenever i wear my glasses, i get an eye infection, and my eyes are extremly dry and itchy. But if I don't wear glasses, i won't get an eye infection, regardless if wearing contacts or not.

Now i just got a grain of sand in my right eye, and it got infected and hurt so much i had to put my contacts out (i also put my left contact out or otherwise i get really bad headache if i see perfectly on the one eye and almost blind on the other one) .

Now i'm sitting here writing this, with my head bend forward to the screen cause if i lean back, i won't be able to read this.

Goal of life: Laser-Assisted in situ Keratomileusis.

That... is awful. ;s

I am not too sure if this'll help you or not, but my mom uses something called "Refresh Optive" or "Refresh Tears Lubricant". I use it from time to time, too, if I get something stuck inside. It's a small box and has a small eye-drop vial. It's sort of like making your eyes feel clean. It feels amazing.

But, I don't know if it'll be wise to use it, considering how your eyes are. ;c

Is that expensive?I think i really need such things as that. When i was a child ( and my eyes had perfect sight! I wasn't nearsighted. I am since i was 16 so over 2 years now)
i often had dry eyes and I often used eye drops.

Are you near/far sighted to or do you just take it cause you also sometimes experience eye infection from getting something in the eye?

edit: and can i use your recommended eye drops while still wearing contacts?

http://www.amazon.com/Refresh-Tears%C2%AE-Lubricant-Bottles-Bottle/dp/B007QSVD96/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1400006324&sr=8-3&keywords=refresh+eye+drops

There are too many bottles in this package, but the idea is there. The bottles shown are what they look like. They generally run $8.00-$15.00, depending on the store and the size. Some of the stores also sell a two-pack version for a cheaper price. Mom and I usually use the green box.

It's not a prescription or anything, but it may take a little while to get used to. It's clear and feels like water, but there's a clean and comfortable feeling after the use. I am not too sure how many times you're meant to use it. I use it on occasion, and my mom uses it daily. A one-time thing.

I am not too sure which sightedness I have, but if I were to look at something up close and personal, perfectly fine. But... if I were to stand outside and look down the road, big signs are blurry. If I cover my left eye, my right eye is perfectly fine. If I cover my right eye, the left eye is super blurry.

I have glasses and a prescription in the left eye, but I don't wear them. I should. :x

E: I am not too sure about the contacts-thing. I know you're meant to put the drops on the eye itself. Lemme go read the bottle. Sec :o

E2: Bottle says nothing about contacts. It merely says to put the drops in the affected eye/eyes. It also says that there's more instructions on the box itself, but we don't have the box anymore.

They list a website: http://www.refreshbrand.com/Products/optive-advanced-preservative-free

Tried contacts, too much of a hassle, so I'm sticking to glasses, I'm not that nearsighted though, although I have an error in my eyes so my lenses cost a lot. Besides, my left eye is only -2.75 and right -2.25 nearsighted.

I know the struggle....

My eyes were always itchy and dry. I was told it depends on the quality of contacts you're wearing as well. I wore FreshLook Toric (because of my astigmatism) for years. As a result, my eyes were always red, dry, and to be honest completely bothersome.

After my last visit to my optometrist, he recommended I switch to Acuvue Oasys in addition to using eye lubricant. The different contacts helped my eyes breathe. I used the eye lubricant right before bed to help with the dry eyes. You can buy it at any pharmacy store and it's actually quite common for just a few bucks. Almost overnight, my eyes were white and the new contacts felt like I genuinely didn't have anything on! :)

So, I suggest you look at other brands that might be of better quality and start using eye lubricant to help with the dryness and redness. :)

That sucks, how do your glasses cause infections? ._.

I've been wearing glasses since I was around 2 years old, can't see fuck all without them at this point.  Contacts were a godsend, but I remember them feeling so weird, since I could actually feel the wind on my face...Idk.  Havn't gotten them for a few years, since we're like super broke.  Lol.

i do have -1.50 left and -1.75 right, i've seen videos of how people with even -4 see the world, not a big difference. If your eyes went from your dioptre to mine you would probably feel it for 1 week, then already forget about the difference.

Thanks for all the tips, i might actually try some eye drops out as they arent so expensive and the eyes are the most sensible of all organs.

My contacts are: Air Optix Aqua. I live in Germany so they're pretty popular here, maybe there are differents in each different country.

Well maybe i've also worn my contacts for too long by now.
I wear monthly lenses, but i'm sure i've been wearing them for at least 2 months now.. but sometimes i change my contact on one eyes 4 times a month because i constantly get problems with them. And yeah because of school 8 am- 4.40 Pm + 1 hour bus drive to and fro it doesn't make my eyes be able to just relax.
