i have -2.00L; -2.50R. shits hell without contacts/glasses. We had a fire alarm go off in my apartment at 3am in the morning and I couldn't grab my glasses so it was like a touch tunnel getting out.

just sucks when you fall asleep with your contacts in, red eyes, RIP.

Since my eyes don't "accept" my contacts i've been wearing for 2 years, today i switched to apparently the best contacts out there, which you can wear 30 days and nights without putting them out. I am really curious.

It's weird. I used to wear contacts almost every day for 2 years and i never felt them in my eyes. Now when i wear them, after about an hour both my eyes will become totally red and irritated, and extremly dry. It's obnoxious.

I just wear the new contacts since 20 minutes, so idk if they will be better for my eyes. I will know in a few hours.

I used to wear contacts 24/7 practically, with ofc removing them for sleeping cause thats painful when you do. I'm blessed with -1 in both eyes so its not that bad. stopped wearing them since I stare at a large computer monitor daily so no real need for them and I get a headache if i do with them. @RSNAlan

I'm also very nearsighted. I've been wearing contacts for almost 7 years now. My left eye is -5.50 and my right eye is -4.75. My prescription hasn't change in the last 5 years. I usually buy a 6 months pack of them every few years because I wear one pair for a loooooooong time lol (longest was 2 years).

I also have no problem sleeping with them on because my eyes are naturally very moist. It's probably not a good idea to be doing this but it's been fine for me as long as I take the contacts out twice a day (morning after shower and before bed) to clean them and let my eyes breathe.

I have a relative that had laser eye surgery to correct their vision because they were extremely nearsighted as well but now it seems they need reading glasses whereas they didn't before. I don't know if that had to do with the eye surgery or their getting older though.

So the other day i was at the eye doctor because i can't wear contact lenses anymore. After 2 years. I'm 18. I don't know whats wrong with my eyes. So she examed my eyes and told me they were alright, just a bit dry. The day after that, i started wearing (new) contact lenses again. Could do so for that one day, the day after that - no. Eyes become completely irritated and red, they don't "accept" contact lenses, may it be very breathable ones (Air Optix Night & Day) or the ones you're supposed to take out every night before going to sleep.

I feel sick . I have to wear my glasses every single day now, and school starts again tomorrow. This is pure torture. I mean, either your eyes don't "accept" contact lenses, or they can see clear. But my eyes are fucking me up. Nearsighted as hell + don't accept the contact lenses. I know this is private but some days wearing my glasses all day i've never felt so low in my life. I really need to start working finally and get the 6000€ together to laser my eyes. It can't go on like this, i'm only suffering from being almost blind without "eyehelp" and my glasses really piss me off.

Did your eye doctor give you a reason as to why your eyes are so dry?

No :( but she gave me some eye drops "vislube" which help making the eyes moist and help when wearing contacts. But as said, can only wear contacts like one day a week now and used to be able to wear it every day for almost 2 years, without problems at all. Since about June this year i have huge problems wearing them.
