I am so sorry for recommending Babylon. That series started out so well, but after Episode 7 things started going downhill pretty badly. Definitely doesn't help that it had one of the most unsatisfying endings I've seen in over a decade. Just... ugh. I can't believe they dropped the ball that hard.
Anyway, onto this season's long overdue thoughts...
I'm really enjoying the Director's Cut of Re:Zero. It may not have added very much, but any addition to the series is a plus in my book. Sucks that Season 2 was delayed until July, but I'm also really looking forward to that when it finally comes.
Loved Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun from start to finish. Super glad to see that it'll have a second season next year.
Pet has been pretty decent. Good psychological thriller and unlike Babylon the quality hasn't nosedived. Hopefully it'll get either a second season or a decent ending.
ID:Invaded has been okay. I'm a sucker for any detective show that's even halfway decent, so it's at least got that going for it.
Blade of the Immortal continues to impress me. Such a good, brutal series.
Bofuri's writing has been pretty lackluster imo (not typically a fan of series with Mary Sue or Gary Stu-type characters), but I'll at least give it credit for being a good way to counterbalance how dark Re:Zero can get. Very chipper and upbeat. lol
In/Spectre has been decent for a supernatural mystery/detective type series, but I'm a little disheartened by the fact that almost this entire season has been spent on a single plot point. I'm used to shows like this doing a bunch of one-off cases before settling on a bigger one. Not a big negative as far as writing quality and all that goes, just personal preference.
My Hero Academia and One Piece continue to be two of my all-time favorite series.
As far as the non-simulcasts go...
I'm currently rewatching Castlevania. Gonna start Season 3 in a few days.
Really looking forward to Altered Carbon: Resleeved, too.
