the upper end of my friends list makes me think sometimes :o

^^ Surprisingly me too, Though two that come to mind make me think they're either Ignoring me, or Passed away (hopefully the first one). As I have them on other means of communication (Facebook & Skype), and neither respond to either of those too. :3

I mostly saw this happening when EoC came out people can't take the change to a new system and they just quit without saying anything and till now most of them never returned pretty sad to see people leave where you've bossed and played RuneScape with like almost all the time :s

I still remember when The Old Nite died too he 'stopped' playing rs too until the news came up he died and after a few months some (SAD) people tried to hack his account by claiming to be his son and I guess jagex than locked his account forever ? ;s

A person from my old clan who was very active and always very friendly just never logged back in. To this day its been over a year; she is still in the clan though because the owner felt it was wrong to kick her because she was always so loyal and genuinely nice person. Indeed very strange she didn't at least say I'm quitting.

I think its a good thing that we notice these things though, It's nice to see some people on this game actually care about each other.

the guy i maxed with would talk for months about how he couldn't wait till summer when his son would come and visit. He would tell everyone he was gonna quit for the summer and would return once fall started and his son left. this led up to a big hype and he said he'd be back in a couple weeks when his son finally got there. About 3 weeks later i decided to call his cell phone as I had a question for a semi urgent clan matter that was asked for me to contact him. (I wasn't in his clan but i was good friends with most of the upper tier of ranks due to sharing the same homeworld) I called him up 1 afternoon for his son to answer the phone crying. His son was a special needs child who was 7 at the time and had no idea what todo in his situation. His dad had gone into his room for the night after tucking his son in and hadn't come out (this was ~ 12 hrs later)  I ended up calling 911 and they got to his house to find that he'd hung himself that night. Little over a week later i flew up to his town and attended his funeral. This sadly was the 2nd close friend of mine from rs whos funeral i had attended. :l
One of my clannies had passed away from leukemia a couple of months earlier. I had also attended her funeral, and it was a sad day when she got hacked and someone logged into her account.

I will not specifically name any players, but I as well have certainly come across the thoughts of Wow, I wonder where they went after I have been so regularly active on the RSOF for about a decade -- Mostly as a Guest, prior special forum-boards-access. I get a better feel of the player's personality upon the forums here which leads me to do a bit of research to see if they are still around in-game when their casual status is seemingly revoked :P . This has hit closer to home on my friends list, though. One day I could be having one of the most entertaining conversations with somebody on my friend's list and then when the next day comes around.. it's the start of them becoming inactive forever; no bye, no ttyl , nothing.

I suppose when our lives can remain so anonymous outside this cyber world, we lose touch with how fragile our real lives can really be at times.
