I've seen similar things over the years. We don't know how the original was seen though. If the post was reported there's every chance it was included in the report. There may have been multiple reports too.

We have seen a number of posts from jmods saying different things. In Websites & Forums there's a few posts on this subject.

Some jmods are just saying they can't divulge what tools they have.

But that's not always the case. Mostly they don't tell us what they cant do.

The way I see it is, if they could see previous edits they'd make it known. If only as a deterrent for covering you tracks if you were posting something undesirable.

But if they cant see previous edits, it would not be wise to say so, as then people would know they can cover their tracks.

Until a jmod can look at an edited post and say "Here's the original I pulled out of the DB" I'm going to remain sceptical

That very question has been asked, the reply was to the effect we cant tell you about our tools.

Yet another jmod stated outright a certain forum investigation was dropped because he only saw the edit not the original and could not verify claims made against the OP.

According to one of my friends, the forums used to be solely members-only from 2003-2009/10. I wasn't really using the forums much at all back then, but if that's true then I wonder if the active users counter might be excluding F2P (logged in or not logged in) on top of that.
