Oh, I misread then.. honestly I'm completely out of my league on this. You're 1000x (underestimating) more caught up on software and hardware than I am, lol. I just manage to get by with very little knowledge about it (:

I read under lost security key - a person would need a verification code not a hard-copy of the key. It sounds like you have that covered in other ways though? Or, I'm not reading all of the information.

I'll just take your word for it! Thank you for being so informative and helpful x)

edit: in any case.... it's way more secure than anything I have myself. I only brought it up in the first place as I was questioning its' worth vs having linkify available on browsers other than chrome.

The verification code is the hard copy. It's up you how and where you store it. For example it's recommended to store a physical copy in your home not on a device.

I've been using for about a year now, and never had need to dig up my hard copy. But it's nice to know if my key ever breaks I can sort it out.

If you have my key, it's useless as no info about my accounts is stored on it. It would be like me finding your front door key. I have no clue what it opens or where the keyhole is.

Laughing at myself atm. I wasn't expecting to explain to all this (it's cool I'm happy to do so) that's why I put the links there. I tend to end up hitting character limit when I discuss stuff like this and was trying to keep it brief.

Anyway I hope it's a bit clearer now :)

Oh I see! That's where I was wrong. "Verification code" sounded like something that could be done over the internet in some way, shape, or form. Although, you need the hard-copy you have at home... got it.

You learn something every day.. I'm trying to stay caught up on these things.. I've learned how much better SSD is vs HDD recently. :D

edit: You're not the only one laughing, I am too ^_^ haha, oops.. I wasn't expecting a lesson today either, but I'm glad I got one :p

General sync'ing between devices wins it for me when it comes to Chrome, I've got all my PC bookmarks on mobile Chrome and vice versa, that and everything.

I might give Opera a go soon. My phone is a bit old and Chrome is starting to slow it down often :(

This is the mindset I have always had - I'm far too deep into the Google ecosystem, however I have started to realise that not having the bookmarks synced wouldn't be such a bad thing as I tend to type the URLs a lot more often than I use bookmarks, and the extensions I use (Gmail checker, uBlock being the primary two) would still work in Opera so I'm probably going to give it a try in the near future.

NVMe or AHCI?! Just kidding, I love learning about hardware though.

Hello Joe! :) <3

Yea, I was building myself a tower and ended up getting a 256gb primary SSD and 1TB secondary HDD with 4gb discrete graphics and a bluray reader optical drive... and some other goodies ofc, 16gb RAM, I forget the intel processor I got, it was 6th gen i5 or something.

Anyways, it was like a baby picking out his favorite clothes. I was terrible, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome :)

Ok so I tried Opera in the end but ended up ditching it after a day because I didn't notice a significant improvement over Chrome on desktop PC.

HOWEVER, I've ditched Chrome on mobile and adopted Firefox as my default browser and my phone seems to perform a little better now, especially when switching between apps. Chrome is just too heavy on mobile. But I don't know... Chrome for PC is more or less the best. It has its RAM shenanigans but for example, I had like 6 tabs open on Opera and 6 on Chrome and the former was taking more memory.

ANYWAY! Both are good browsers. *tries to avoid getting too much into browser wars*. Honestly, all of the current browsers are good for what I do nowadays.

That really sums it up, just use what you like and what works for you :)

I'd like my title to be changed to

Saint Maria
The Crazy Cranberry Lady

If it's not too long. :3

Done, though it might take a couple of hours before Linkify picks up the changes.

It wasn't too long, seems we have a bit more room for titles since the forum re-skin.
